The Wave is our one bedroom casita in the middle of our lush gardens in the quiet expat Punta Blanca community on the East End of Roatan. Across the road is the sea, just up the walkway is the large pool. The casita will please your senses and make you feel at home in our tropical paradise. We strive to help you relax, enjoy new experiences, eat well and sleep soundly. Amazing beaches, fishing, snorkeling, diving and sailing are all here on the East End without huge crowds. "The Wave" has just been completely remodeled into a large open space with a separate Master bedroom. There is a comfortable "L" shaped living area, a dining table and large renovated bathroom with a handpainted wall mural. The kitchen is equipped with refrigerator, range/oven and stainless sink and various small appliances including a microwave, blender, toaster and more. There is a front porch and the house stands alone so it is very private. Just steps from the front door is a secure parking space at the edge of the gardens. Guests are encouraged to explore the gardens, filled with tropical specimens, including wild orchids, coconut trees, pineapples, bananas, mango, lime and more. The pool is a custom design and is UV light treated so there are very few chemicals added. It is 9 feet deep at the deep end and 4 feet at the shallow end. It just just steps away from the casita up the paved pathway. We invite our guests to join us for homemade popovers on the deck on Sunday mornings. The pool is for used only by our guests and the owners. A nice way to start the day! We believe in being as helpful as we can be. We have had guests who like to be shown the local hot spots and those who prefer to discover for themselves. We are happy to assist either way. We have three very friendly dogs who will greet you at the gates and then leave you alone! Punta Blanca is not the busy, crowded West End. We are a smaller, expat community with a marina and the best acquifer fed water on the island which means the water is pure and safe so no lugging of water jugs. There are restaurants and bars close by and one of the best beaches on the islands just down the road. We recommend a four wheel drive rental car since the East End is higher and the roads are twisty and curvy. Punta Blanca is a mile or so off the main paved road that runs from one end of the island to the other. Our guests usually have no problem reaching us since we're about 30 minutes from the airport, just four turns away and our neighborhood sign means we're well marked. We offer to meet guests at the airport if they are unfamiliar and need guidance, often stopping at the American style grocery story, Eldon's, so they can stock up the kitchen! We have a outdoor shower for rinsing off after snorkeling in the ocean, a picnic table and a porch incase you care to spend more time outside. The ocean, just across the road has a private access via a two tiered dock. The reef is just a short snorkel away!
