Tofukuji Tsuki is a laid-back, well-designed, machiya-inspired Kyoto home with plenty of attractions, charm, and style. With exposed wood throughout, earthy-colored walls, a modern kitchen and quaint, but elegant Japanese flourishes, like the earthen exterior, tatami-mat flooring in various rooms, and small Japanese-style garden, it’s the ideal meeting point between old Japan and the modern-day. The space The flow of Tofukuji Sakura’s interior is artfully considered and designed to be lived in with a layout flexible enough to suit a cross-section of traveling types. With a maximum capacity of seven people, Tofukuji Sakura would be the perfect base of operations for two small families traveling together, an extended family, or a large group of friends. Moreover, when booked together with neighboring Tofukuji Tsuki, there is adequate space for 13 people. With both Tofukuji Sakura and Tofukuji Tsuki having one free parking space each, they are great options for those travelling by car. With complete laundry facilities and ample storage space, those who are planning to stay in Kyoto for a while will also find the home extremely comfortable and easily adaptable to their needs. The first floor is dedicated to the sleeping and bathing areas, whereas the second floor where you will find the living, dining, and kitchen areas. There is one restroom on each floor. The open layout on the second floor can also be used to host guests should you find yourself needing to entertain during your during your time in Kyoto. Upon entering the house, you will find yourself in the shared entry way for Tofukuji Sakura and Tofukuji Tsuki with each having their own individual entrance from here, complete with unique lock combinations. Tofukuji Sakura will be on the left side. Immediately after entering, you will be in the genkan for Sakura. Directly ahead will be two spacious rooms complete with traditional tatami floors and lush futons for you to sleep and recharge after a long day out on the town. beyond the second tatami room here, you will find the classic Japanese-garden where you can enjoy a cup of tea and relax or meditate while finding your inner zen. Going back to the genkan and moving beyond the tatami rooms and further down the hallway, you will find Tofukuji Sakura's bathing facilities on the right-hand side. Immediately inside the washroom to the right is the shower where you can quickly get cleaned up before entering the idyllic rotenburo, a Japanese outdoor bath, from which you can enjoy the garden. Back inside the washroom you will find the laundry facilities which are free to use for all guests. Across the hallway from the washroom is the first floor restroom. The second floor is the spacious combination living, dining, and kitchen area. The kitchen facilities are well equipped to meet your needs on your trip with a portable IH burner that can be used on the counter or at the table for a group that wants to enjoy hotpot on a chilly evening in the winter. There are two options for dining with an elevated tatami flooring section complete with a low table for those who wish to enjoy their meals in the traditional style and a western style dining table for those who prefer to sit upright while enjoying their meal. The living area features a large comfortable sofa and additional stools for seating, a center table, and a large TV for your viewing pleasure. At the top of the stairs, before entering the living, dining, and kitchen area, you will find the second floor restroom. With one restroom on each floor, Tofukuji Sakura offers ultimate convenience.
