Central/East Maple Ave. Guest House

Maple Guest House is conveniently located 5 minutes from downtown, a couple minutes to the U.T. campus, and walking distance to over 15 East Side bars, restaurants, and coffee shops. Enjoy lots of natural light in our large, all-glass living room surrounded by bamboo; relax by our pool or soak in our hot-tub; and get a great night of sleep on our comfortable mattresses and pillows. The space Maple Guest House is a modern two-story bedroom home with a large fenced in yard with a privacy fence and a pool/hot-tub. It was built in late 2008 and has been an Airbnb since 2012. There is only one bathroom, which is not ideal for all larger groups but works for most folks. The living room is very large with high ceilings and a seating area for four to eat at the table, plus there are two spots at the bar. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you might need (please inquire if you have any questions). The downstairs bedroom has a big desk that is a great work space with a pool view. It also has an antique turntable cabinet with records from our collection that you can enjoy. The downstairs bedroom DOES NOT have a door but still has some privacy because it is large and the bed is tucked away from the door (please see pictures). The upstairs bedroom is small and cozy and right next to the bathroom. Most of the space on the second floor is taken up by the outdoor deck. The pool and hot-tub are available for you at all times (we provide a phone at the house to operate the hot-tub with our pool app so you can use it at all hours). For more information about the house please see our photo gallery with descriptions. I would describe our place as Austin Bohemian with a Rock n Roll feel. We have a cozy pool/hot-tub area that is great for relaxing in all weather, plus we have records, books, and a guitar for you to use. Other than the many pictures of musicians and concerts we have attended, the art on the walls are by local artist friends. Despite frequent updates, it is an airbnb, not a hotel. If you are looking for brand new and generic, this isn't the place for you. The bathroom received new floor tile in January 2024 and the dining chairs, bar-stools, couch, side chairs, and throw pillows are also new, but a lot of the vintage furniture is not. We prefer more stylish vintage pieces instead of easily replaceable IKEA furniture, but unfortunately people are hard on stuff and we can't afford to replace everything with a knick, scratch, water-ring, etc., so there are some imperfections. We guarantee that it is clean and the linens, shams, duvets, towels, etc are always thoroughly washed and frequently changed out for new ones. We also only use eco-friendly fragrance free detergent and cleaning products. PARTIES (especially Austin locals) - though we allow friends and family to stop by and hang out with you of course, we do not allow events. If you're from Austin and looking to throw a big pool party during your stay, please do not book. Thanks for understanding. Pets - We do allow well behaved dogs (sorry no kitties) as long as they get along with other dogs because our dogs do share the yard. We also do not allow dogs on the furniture without proper covering. If you think your dog will be agitated by seeing our dogs in the yard while you're gone, I would not book unless your dog is crate trained. Dogs are $50.00 per dog. Please let us know that you understand the dog rules. If you do not like dogs we don't suggest that you stay here but we are happy to keep ours more confined to our house if you have allergies or special requests regarding the dogs. We want you to enjoy your stay. Guest access In addition to the guesthouse, you have access to the entire backyard, pool, hot-tub, grill, and all tables, chairs, etc. that are available in those spaces. The pool and yard is a shared space, but really that just means you will see our dogs coming and going in the yard for the most part b/c they have a dog door. We only use the pool/spa when we know our guests are not using it and are out. If we see our guests enjoying it, we're not going to join them and always give our guests space and privacy to enjoy the pool. Many of our reviews note that the pool feels very private for our guests as it is tucked away to the side of the guest house. We do not need to meet you for you to get into the guest-house and you're welcome to arrive as late as you need to. The laundry room attached to the back of our house is only available for extended stay guests (1 week or more) unless you request it, which we are happy to accommodate with a schedule so we are able to do our laundry as well.
