This is an ideal family holiday home, with launch and jetty facilities onto Swartvlei lake, which is perfect for water skiing, wake-boarding, sailing, fishing and canoeing. Beautiful Swartvlei beach is 2 Kms away, where you can swim, walk, fish and hunt for shells in the rocks near Gerrike’s Point. You might see dolphins and even whales (in season), seagulls, terns, endangered black oystercatchers, purple herons, flamingos and malachite kingfishers! Sedgefield borders the Goukamma Nature Reserve and the Wilderness National Park, leaving one spoilt for choice when it comes to bird watching and walks through indigenous fauna and flora. Guest access You have access to the entire house except the garage (where we keep a boat) and a store room. Other things to note Activities in the area: Sedgefield is a paradise for those who love the outdoors. Para-gliders soar over the village and kite surfing is common near the beach and in the lagoon. Horse riding is available in the area. Fancourt golf course in George is 30 mins away and Goose Valley golf course in Plettenberg Bay is 50 minutes up the coast. Sedgefield hosts a machee course and driving range. The Wild Oats Farmer’s market and Scarab craft market are big attractions on Saturdays. Nearby attractions include Knysna (typically voted SA's most attractive town), with a marina, excellent shopping and dining opportunities. Victoria Bay (for surfers), the ostriches in Oudtshoorn and the spectacular Cango Caves are also close by.
