La Casa de Don Santiago is Copans' loveliest rental, wonderful 2 story townhouse in a quiet residential neighborhood, 5 blocks from Central Park. It was purpose-built by owner as a a vacation rental unit & has all amenities. The townhouse is bright, airy & very comfortable. Two large bdrms with air con with cathedral ceilings. Living room has sofa which converts to a very comfortable single bed. Fully equipped kitchen, dining room, living room, small interior garden, hammock & comfy chairs. Architecturally, one of the most beautiful homes in the village, our 1,500 sq ft townhouse was purpose built as a Vacation Rental in 2006 & boasts Spanish Colonial architecture & clean contemporary, modernist lines. Scandinavian inspired, hardwood furnishings throughout, are all hand made by local craftsmen. Wood panelled cathedral ceiling on 2nd floor. Each bdrm has French doors opening to a small balcony with valley view, a/c, oversized open style closet, ceiling fan, large desk w/chair, 2 end tables w/reading lamps, private bath w/ walk-shower & granite countertop. Commissioned artworks throughout by local artists. Kitchen is fully equipped w/ microwave, coffee maker, toaster oven, stove w/ oven, dishware, pots/pans, utensils, dry kitchen storage room. Refrigerator is stocked daily with beverages. Complimentary purified water. Small garden/sitting area w/ hammock, potted bamboo & comfy chairs. Living room w/ sofa which becomes a comfortable single bed, ceiling fan, color tv w/ cable, DVD with film library, wifi, daily towel, linen & maid service, guest bath & French door opening to garden. All windows and doors are fully screened. Daily maid service included. The townhouse is self contained & stand-alone, guests are provided a key & they can come & go as they wish. Owners are Howard (from the US) & Angela (from Honduras). We have been providing quality lodging options in Copan Ruinas since 1995. In addition to our townhouse, we also own & manage a B&B, Hostel & Boutique Hotel in the village. We and our manager, Fatima are always on site or nearby to provide an individual orientation upon arrival, recommend activites, help with reservations of tours & point you to the best restaurants and any other information guests require. We are knowledgeable about the area & Central American tourism and are fully bilingual. The townhouse is located in a quiet, upper middle class residential neighborhood, 5 blocks from the Central Park - the heart & soul of village life. Small supermarkets, shops, restaurants & the village fruit & vegetable market are all located 3 - 4 blocks away. Just in front of the townhouse is the La Casa de Cafe B&B, which has been serving guests since 1995 and is owned by us as well. Guests in the townhouse are welcome to enjoy the lovely garden, our Cafe & massage pavilion in the B&B, which offers a lovely panoramic view of the Copan River Valley. Copan Ruinas is a small, mountain village of some 10,000 friendly inhabitants. It's a walkers paradise as literally everything in town is located within a 6 - 7 block radius of the townhouse. Mototaxis or tuk tuks as they are also known, provide quick, efficient & cheap transport in & around town for apprx 50 cents US per person. We are located, a 20 minute walk or 5 minute mototaxi ride to the archeological site & Maya Sculpture Museum. The Macaw Mtn Reserve and outlying archeological sites are a 10 minute ride away via tuk tuk. In addition to the world famous Maya site of Copan, we also have a world class Maya Sculpture Museum located at the main Archeological site, the lovely, forested Sepulturas Archeological Site where the Mayia elite of Copan once lived, the newly opened (and free of charge) Rastrojon Archeological Site as well as the Macaw Mtn Bird Reserve - renowned for it's innovative Copan Valley Macaw Release Project, as well as one of the best hot springs in Central America.
