Wake up feeling rejuvenated in a lofted bedroom beneath a wood-paneled ceiling with skylight windows. Descend a spiral staircase into a warm kitchenette for a cup of coffee, then have a seat in an airy living room beside a brass-plated decorative fireplace. Enjoy a picnic or grill on the front lawn and explore the 4 acres of most authentic Hudson Valley landscape. This specious cottage features 20ft ceilings, multiple skylights and glass front, which creates the perfect light and brings the beautiful nature inside. It is a perfect size for a couple. The sleeping loft opens to the living space and has a spiral staircase descending to the living room. Guests can access the cottage from its own entrance, driveway and parking area, and have an exclusive use of the large front yard. The cottage shares the driveway with the main house, but the main house has its own backyard on the other side of the property, which allows our guests to have the most privacy. We welcome pets and they can enjoy the large front yard attached to the cottage. We might be present in the main house during your weekend stays, but can always be available via phone or send someone local to the house if needed. The ultimate countryside retreat surrounded by gorgeous nature, less than an hour drive from NYC! The cottage is set on a large 4 acres property shared with the main house but still retains the utmost privacy. Easily accessible from the main road but secluded by its own long driveway. Bear Mountain, Anthony's Nose, Breakneck Ridge, Sugarloaf, Arden's Point, Manitou Preserve hiking trails are nearby, some are within walking distance. 10min drive to Cold Spring, 10min to West Point, 20min to Beacon, 15min to Woodbury Commons Outlets, Amazing shops for antiquing and local finds, farmers markets on weekends. Accessible by Metro-North train - Garrison station is 5min drive away. We highly recommend a car in this area, as it's pretty secluded and most places would need a drive. There are a couple hiking trails within walking distance and only a few local food deliveries. If you decide to come by train, the cottage is a 5 minutes drive from the Metro North - Garrison train station. Uber/Lift is available but could take a while. Please reach out for local taxi service info. Please note, the kitchenette is pretty minimal and includes a mini fridge, microwave, coffee machine and sink. Dishes and basic supplies are provided. There is no oven/stove, but we have a grill outside for cottage guests. The sofa in the living room opens to a twin bed, but doesn't have a proper mattress. The bedroom is a loft open to the living room, so please note there's no separate bedroom door, if you are looking to share the space. The fireplace is electric, not wood burning, but provides a great ambiance in the winter.
