Aroko on Aitutaki.
Aroko on Aitutaki.
Description
Our small self- contained bungalow is a very modest, spotless island style home. Located in Tautu village overlooking the lagoon, it is on the quiet windward (eastern) side of Aitutaki. Our place is peaceful, hospitable and has beautiful sunrise views. Transport is essential in Aitutaki. It is a short drive/ride to shops & cafes. Definitely the place for those looking for an authentic Aitutaki local living experience and especially those looking for a longer term stay. The space The bungalow comprises a fully self contained common space containing one double bed, a full size sofa (on the deck) and dining table. It has full kitchen and cooking facilities and has solar heated hot water. We have an abundance of tropical fruit trees especially - pawpaw, bananas - upon arrival, guests are provided a share of whatever we have available. Guest access The bungalow is set on our beautiful lagoon side property - guests are free to enjoy the views, the walks, - anywhere! Other things to note During the week shops and businesses are open in Aitutaki (except on public holidays). On Saturdays most stores are open except those who observe Saturday Sabbath - on Sunday there are just a couple of food stores open -the majority of locals attend church on Sunday. Some wifi is available at home but reception is still not the best in Tautu. There are however a good number of hotspots located all over the island. Vouchers can be easily purchased from many stores in Aitutaki or the Post Office - internet in general, is usually reasonably fast! All transactions are in $NZ and most stores now accept credit card but it is also a good idea to have a small amount of cash available also.
