Kuriri cottage

A self contained one bedroom cottage perfect for a relaxing holiday for 1-2 people, Kuriri has a separate bedroom and bathroom, and open-plan lounge/kitchen and dining area. There are partial ocean views from the lounge area, which is sunny and airy. Beach access is a few steps away, at the end of the property. The space Kuriri Cottage overall size is 45 square metres, with a roomy single bedroom 15 square metres. At the entry there are 4 wide steps to the covered porch 1.4 metres wide. From the lounge/ dining area, there is a partial view of the lagoon. We took advantage of 12mths off the market, while the front unit was under construction, to do a facelift on Kuriri and it is now under new management.. Originally built as a personaly holiday bach, construction is plywood with tiled roof; insulated high ceilings and polyurethaned floors. Walls are plastered gib-board. Aluminium-framed windows have insect screens and two standard fans are provided for cooling. The bathroom is compact consisting of shower stall, toilet, vanity unit with and washing machine. Guest access Kuriri shares a beachfront section with other chalets (Torea, Tavake) owned by different members of the same family. Off-street parking space is available on the property. there is a new chalet Tavake) between Kuriri Cottage and the sea, but there is easy access on the common pathway to the beach. Altough the entry ramp for the chalet in front is close, privacy for both units is maintained. Other things to note For cooler nights, a blanket and duvet are in plastic containers stored in the wardrobe. A starter pack is provided of tea, coffee, sugar sachets and a small carton of milk, together with one 1.5 -litre bottle of drinking water. This can be refilled at public water stations, or you can simply refill with tap water boiled in electric kettle and allowed to cool. TIP: The electric kettle switches off automatically, so fill and boil it at night, then refill the water bottle first thing in the morning. There is a landline in the bedroom, local number is (+682) 22-235 if you want to leave a contact number for relatives or friends. For longer stays, we will bring fresh towels, sheets & pillowslips after 4 nights. We will phone first to arrange a time convenient to ou. The fridge has a small freezer, with ice trays available.
