Description

Our Wedgwood/Matthews Beach home is a 5 min walk to the Burke Gilman Trail and Matthews Beach - the largest swimming area on Lake Washington, with playground & BBQs. This 1 bd 800 sq ft daylight basement includes kitchenette & full bath. Ceiling height 7'. Street parking is free. We live upstairs, happy to help with anything you may need. Metro bus #75 is a short ride to Seattle Children's Hospital, UW campus, U-Village, Husky Stadium, Northgate Light Rail Station, & UW Medical Center. The space Our urban farm is equipped with chickens - the guest space is the best view! They get noisy at times (as chickens do) and provide endless entertainment. Please consider if sharing a home with others is the right choice for you. Since we live just above this space, you will hear the old floorboards creak and our cat practicing her early morning and nightly gymnastics. If you are particularly sensitive to noise, a basement apartment is probably not the right fit. Guest access Follow the main path around the north (left) side of the house to use the red side door for private guest entry. You will receive a unique key-code for use during your stay. You are welcome to use the outdoor covered sitting area next to this door as well as the front yard. A private washer & dryer are located in your bathroom. Other things to note This space is not suitable for toddlers. Kitchenette includes toaster oven, microwave, mini-fridge, electric kettle, rice cooker, coffee pot, and french press. There is no stove/cooktop or conventional oven. The TV includes Blu-ray and streaming available for you to sign in to your Netflix, Amazon accounts, etc. No cable/local channels. As this is the downstairs of our 100 year old home, it is not technically a separate unit. While we have done what we can to make it as private/separate a living space as possible, there are limitations. The house furnace is in the unit bathroom and you may hear it turn on and off. Because the thermostat is upstairs, the temperature cannot be adjusted from the unit, but you may adjust the amount of air coming through the heat vents by opening/closing them. We are happy to turn the heat up/down as needed, but you must let us know if you are too hot/cold. There are fans in the bedroom closet and an electric fireplace in the living room.
