Birch Grove - Secluded home with a beautiful view

With a view of Kachemak Bay, the Homer Spit and glaciers, "Birch Grove" features two acres of backyard with dozens of Birch trees. It is conveniently located, a seven minute drive to downtown Homer, and 12 minutes to the Homer Spit. Perfect for guests who wish to relax in a quiet space and be close to adventure. There are two Bedrooms with queen beds and a queen sofa bed. Please note our home is a PET FREE space. The space With breathtaking views, Birch Grove features a 360 wrap around deck, with plenty of outdoor seating making it a perfect spot to view our resident moose family and other wildlife. There is also a picnic table for outdoor dining, and a fire pit for relaxing in the evening. Open floor plan on the top floor with floor to ceiling windows, vaulted wood ceilings, and hardwood floors with radiant heat. A gigantic kitchen with all the amenities, plus a dining table for 6 plus 3 bar stools. Cozy living room with a sofa, rocking chair and rocker recliner. The living room also features a flat screen TV with wifi (bring your passwords) and Bose bluetooth sound bar. There are wide variety of DVDs for your entertainment. The first floor has a bedroom, full bathroom with tub. The library has an assortment of books and board games, puzzles. In the library there is a desk, for those working remotely. In the den there is a sleeper sofa and a circular table for playing games or doing puzzles. There is a laundry room, washer and dryer, for your convenience, detergent is provided. Please note our home is a PET FREE space in consideration of guests who may have pet allergies. Guest access You will have full access to the house and the yard. There is ample parking, and room to park a boat and trailer if you need it. * Please note, you have full access to the yard. The front acre is set up for guests with a fire pit and covered dining area. Feel free to wander. At the far end of the two acres is "Cottonwood Buds Forest School", an early childhood education program. The students attend class, 9-3 Tuesday -Thursday Our son and his partner run the school. Other things to note PLEASE NOTE: Our home PET FREE space in consideration of our guests may have pet allergies. You are staying in an open space in Alaska, there are wild critters about and you should not approach them. Moose are beautiful but they are not friendly, they will charge, especially the mothers with calves. If you encounter one, hug a tree. Our 360 degree deck is the perfect place for observation. * Water Delivery on Friday * Trash pick up Wednesday mornings - ALL trash MUST be in trash bags. (Pick up is done by a guy in a pick-up truck, not a fancy city truck with arms) Thus the need for trash bags. There is no Recycling center in Homer. * The house can get hot in the afternoon, we suggest pulling down the living room shades when you leave for your adventures. * Please note, at the far end of the two acres is a small yurt and school house that is the home of "Cottonwood Buds", an early childhood outdoor education program . They are there 9-3 Monday through Thursday. They are 2 acres away from the house. Program is run by our son and his partner.
