Ormerod Cottage was built by the first settler on the original Naracoorte Station Run. Lovingly restored in the 1990’s, the cottage is private and cozy featuring a large open fireplace, king bed, claw foot bath, & private garden. Situated on the grounds of Narracoorte Homestead The space The Cottage is 180 years old, the first dwelling built in Naracoorte in 1847, and is of significant heritage value to inhabitants of the town of Naracoorte and to South Australian history. There are a number of grants outstanding for on-going conservation works that are a part of maintaining a building of this age. Please consider the historical significance of the building, noting that some 'character' can be seen in walls and flooring. Please leave The Cottage in the condition in which is was presented. *please advise the host as soon as possible if any area is of concern *firewood supplied during winter months at no extra charge Guest access The access key is as unique and old as the property itself so the key must be left in the locked key box when leaving the property, and not taken off site. A new key cost of $100 will be charged if key is lost. New features in 2025: a metal ramp allowing a wheelchair access has been added to this property.
