O&G Villa Room 1
Guest rooms are tastefully decorated and the scenic window views make it feel like a treehouse. Open windows to capture the cool breeze and the fresh mountain air. Our rooms and public areas have verandas looking out into lush mountain vegetation. Our Rooftop Veranda provides 360 panoramic views. Take in the sunrise, sunset, and stars galore while chilling out at the bar & tearoom, meditating, or hosting a party. A great place to meet and "reason" with the locals Maroons. On the mountaintop in Cockpit Country, O&G Villa offers new and beautiful accommodations in the small, friendly Maroon community of Accompong. Explore trails, rivers, and medicinal plants that nourish the Maroon way of life, honoring its history and values. African drumming, dancing and Reggae music fill the hills with joy. Appleton Rum Estate and Ys River Falls are a short drive. The town is small and transportation is not needed to get around. (Driver available for those needing assistance.) There are several walking trails to visit historic landmarks or unique ecosystem outcrops and guides are available. Route taxis are available to get to nearby towns. Charter taxis can be arranged easily. We live on the premises and are easily available to meet your needs. We can arrange activities based on your preferences, such as hiking tours. We offer chartered tours to a variety of locations, for example, Ys River Falls, Appleton Estate, Santa Cruz, and Treasure Beach. Discover the real Jamaica, removed from, but close enough to, the beach scene. With a rich legacy, Accompong remains an independent, sovereign state formed in 1738 by runaway slaves when they defeated the British. Maroon values of respect, autonomy, and freedom remain alive. Walk the same paths as the founders, such as to the Kindah Tree where strategy was planned and to the Peace Cave where the Treaty was signed. Talking with the founders’ descendents is easy as you stroll through town where you are greeted by elders and youth. The town is small and transportation is not needed to get around.
