Our apartment is situated in a less touristy part of Chaweng where majority of residents are local Thai people and not so many tourists (farangs). The less great things are that you may have the odd noisy neighbor, dogs barking and cats fighting, occasional birthday party with loud karaoke music, and there may be trash in certain areas. Thailand is a tropical country and Thai culture tends to be noisier than western people, so expect the sound of life to be more vibrant than from what you may be used to. However, one tends to get used to the sound of daily life after a few days though. Our maid live in another apartment in the same building, so she are most of the time there if you need any assistance. Room is 7x4m = 28 m2. Situated on 3rd floor, so you must climb up stairs. If you have apartment door and balcony door open, you will have refreshing wind, so there's no need to use air conditioner at all.
