Gorgeous Secluded Treehouse with Spectacular Views
Description
Beautiful, truly remote, redwood lined Treehouse atop a hill with spectacular views! It is comfortable for any type of visitor to the Monterey Peninsula - 2 families or group of friends stay comfortably. The master bed has en suite bathroom & is separated from 3 other bedrooms & 2 other bathrooms by a large living room. House is quiet & relaxing. It's cozy in the winter with its wood burning stove and gas fireplace & fun in summer with a sun-scaped deck to hang out on warm summer nights! The space MoCo License: VR240025 This is a very unique house. It is not a city house. You are in the middle of nature on top of a hill with turkey, foxes, deer and barn cats. This is a post and flower home with views from most every room even the master shower! The home is uniquely situated for 7 people in that there is plenty of room for personal space whether you retreat to one of the four bedrooms, hang in the large living room where the views are on a comfy huge couch, head to the comfortable TV room to take in a movie, or head out to the large deck to enjoy your coffee, wine or bbq the night away on the large front deck. Beds are comfortable, linens are top shelf, and the kitchen has EVERYTHING you need. WE have FAST Skylink WiFi and boast board games and books for relaxing entertainment. KID FRIENDLY AREA: If you are looking for things to do with the kids they can run up and down the outside stairs or driveway or up the hill. Our daughter used to skateboard up and down the driveway. The aquarium and cannery row are about 25 minutes and Santa Cruz beach boardwalk is about an hour. Carmel beach for a picnic is the best! There are also volleyball nets on Carmel Beach. Horseback riding is a biggie in Carmel Valley. You can also hike up the hill by taking the trail right out our front door down to the waterfall trail! (Water is not always flowing but please register complaints with mother nature). If you want to head out for an adventure a couple hours away south towards LA there are water slides and zip lining. Or, just hang out where there is a real fire pit in the back yard to roast smores. (NOTE: This is a home on a private road. MUST drive respectfully on the road) LOCATION: This house is truly in Carmel Valley California on the Monterey Peninsula that borders Garland Park. (Sometimes the search on airbnb for monterey peninsula leads you astray. For example, Big Sur is an hour by car from Carmel Valley but you may get a Big Sur house when you search). You can hike up the hill to hours and miles of hiking right from the driveway. As guests of our home, you can enter the "park" for free from the house. Carmel Valley village is about 7 minutes with a high end grocery store. You are about 15-20 minutes to Carmel by the Sea where there are tons of restaurants and another 5-10 min to pebble beach where you can listen to the bag piper as the sun goes down after dinner at Roy's. Big Sur is an hour away and Monterey is about 20-25 minutes from the house. I am happy to make restaurant recommendations as that is one of our favorite things to do. The Henderson Treehouse is on top of a hill which allows for views from almost every room - including the master shower - but the road up to the house is also unique. Its 2.5 miles from CV road and there are cute one lane bridges and some bumpy parts of the road without asphalt. You drive next to a river on the latter part. It is not a big city road so to get to the views you have to earn it! (You do NOT need an SUV.) CARMEL VALLY RESTAURANTS: Once up at the house on top of a hill, you are a short 7 minutes from Carmel Valley village where you can grab a a margarita at Plaza Linda, beer and wine at Trailside, or jaunt a few more minutes down Carmel valley road to partake in the expert mixology cocktails at the 5 star Bernardus Lodge. Plaza Linda is the town mexican food and they make a mean margarita and have an awesome bottomless mimosa brunch. Sometimes we walk down to Plaza Linda for brunch as its just at the bottom of the hill. (2.5 miles) Tell Ed and Jesse that the Hendersons sent you! Trailside is very family friendly and has a nice size outdoor deck and back beer garden. Tell Sean that the Hendersons sent you! Fancier restaurants like Corkscrew and Rustica will satisfy as well. One of our faves is Mika Sushi which is family owned. There is even thai in CV Village. TONS OF WINE TASTING: This village is peppered with wine tasting options certain to satisfy your taste buds and with the short drive you can call a cab or possibly Uber or Lyft for not much dough. Happy to answer any questions about anything you can think of! Just message us. We want you to have a great time in our home we are opening to you. Mi casa et su casa! IMPORTANT TO NOTE: Mother Nature is in control. :) This is home in a group of 20 homes in a private community past a private gate. MUST drive respectfully on the road. In the summer, Carmel Valley is like being in southern california on the Monterey Peninsula. Sometimes, rarely, it gets really warm. As the average temp on the Monterey peninsula is in the 60s, there are no air conditioners in the house. For those rare rare occasions when its a hot summer night, the house is equipped with fans or you can just open the windows and throw off the comforter! In the winter, please understand to be very cozy, you simply need to make fires in the wood burning stove and wood/kindling/cardboard are provided. Our house manager even starts your first one for you! (Those of you used to just turning your heater on to heat an apt/house will need to get your fire making skills on to stay uber cozy during winter) because the house won’t get cozy with just the heater. If you continuously feed the fire, you will be able to walk around in shorts. Running the heater will just not give you that cozy feel like the wood burning stove! There are also electric blankets on every bed with down comforters to keep you warm at night. (The forced air heater runs on propane so running it all day and night at 80 degrees is simply not an option in this house because it just does nothing more than drain the propane tank. Its perfect to take the edge off while you start a cozy fire.) Additionally, there is a spectacular gas stove for ambiance in one of the living rooms. The kitchen is communal which means we leave the condiments, extra marshmallows, popcorn, beer, butter etc. from previous guests to share. (If food is unsanitary it is thrown away between guests). Please feel free take what you want and leave some to share or don't. And, we made the house nice for you but we left our books, board games, photos, xbox games and tons of DVDs for folks to enjoy. (Please know that Owner will be on property below as required by Monterey county. Call for details. 831xxx917xxx3835. Please be respectful to neighbors and on the road and no very large parties allowed. Much appreciated.) ***Absolutely NO PETS. If you have service animal the security deposit is $3000.00. If you get caught with pets it’s a $500 extra cleaning fee. The house has hardwood floors and wooden doors that are easily destroyed by claws. Also, the house used to have a tenant whose had a dog that marked which could be a disaster...**** Guest access You have access to the whole stone post and flower house on the top of the hill with spectacular ever changing views. It is all yours subject to county requirements. Other things to note We provide coffee, bathroom essentials like cutips, cotton balls, shampoo, and help yourself to anything in the pantry or fridge.
