We find the open steppe country here -- its sunrises and sunsets, the immersive night sky, and the daily encounters with wildlife and livestock -- to be a calming environment in which to be alone with our thoughts. Our guests have a chance to step back and rest, or work on their projects without distractions, while our kitchen and staff take care of the maintenance tasks like cooking and cleaning. Guests are welcome to participate in our farming activities, but they can treat it as a resort too! The space My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), big groups, and furry friends (pets). There are 5 guest rooms in our house, each with two beds. We also have 5 Mongolian gers, in which we can place as many as four single beds. Kids are sure to enjoy this place as much as our own, who are always busy riding their bikes, playing with plants, bugs, rocks, the resident cat, or climbing the mound (affectionately regarded as "Zaisan Tolgoi"). They are welcome to play in our grandchildren's sand-pit in front of the house. We have one shared bathroom in the house, which has a shower, one stall for guests, and two sinks. However, you may find the outhouse or the modern toilet separate from the house a more interesting relief experience. There is a table and chair suited for writing in each room, and we have collapsible chairs and a pagoda with insect screens if you would like to read or lounge outdoors. Our large "conference ger" and the common room have more space for gatherings and group activities. If you would like to hold a conference here, we have a projector and screen in the common room. Our kitchen serves three meals per day to everyone. The staff, our family, and guests -- all eat together. We will try our best to prepare our supplies for guests with dietary restrictions, so please let us know ahead of time, preferably at least a month before your arrival. Cost person/per night included 3 time meal. Guest access Guests have access to their own rooms and all common areas. We don't expect our guests to access our work areas without our knowledge. However, we welcome our guests to participate in our farming (in the fields or summer and winter greenhouses) and woodworking activities at their own risk and joy! We can also arrange for our guests day trips to visit herding households in the vicinity, where activities like horse-riding, milking, etc., can occur. During your stay We respect the guests' preference for social interactions. When we are around, we generally have our own work to do. And so, guests are welcome to keep to themselves. Nevertheless, we have enjoyed long conversations with our guests before. Other things to note Currently, we only have 240V electricity while the generator is running -- we only run it while necessary. 15V electricity is always available, as this system is based on solar and wind energy. We always have cold running water, but hot running water can be turned on when needed.
