This quaint beach cottage is nestled in the heart of the Adirondacks, just steps away from a private beach club on Lake George. This nostalgic vacation getaway has been enjoyed by family and friends for generations. Double kayak + canoe available The space Built in the 60's its quintessential wood paneled walls, acorn fireplace, formica counters, open shelving and faded linoleum floors give this home a well loved and lived in charm. The large screened in porch is great for dining, reading and napping in the hammock. The front deck is a lovely spot for morning coffee, bird watching and listening to the morning news and the back patio has a gas and charcoal grill for cooking up all the fish you'll catch in the lake! The kitchen and living room have an open floor plan with a huge window overlooking the woods and lake. This is a great area for entertaining, cooking, relaxing on the couch, or sitting by the fire. The master bedroom features a picture window that overlooks the woods and the lake. This is a wonderful room to wake up in as sun filters through the trees for a cheerful and inspiring morning. This room has a queen sized bed with a firm new mattress, an antique dresser and closet. The 2nd bedroom has a set of darling, antique single beds. Plenty of windows to enjoy a cool breeze and the sound of a babbling brook just down the hill. There is a large dresser, side table and a closet full of puzzles, games, extra blankets, etc. with enough room to hang some clothes. Our 3rd and 4th bedrooms are the most unique and fun part of the home's design. A set of bunk beds has been split into 2 narrow rooms with a small set of shelves and curtains for privacy. These small rooms are the coziest sleeping nooks and a children's haven. Many adults have been know to secretly covet the lower bunk room but be forewarned that you must be small and agile to climb into the top bunk. There is a safety railing for kids and grownups alike. The pullout couch in the living room sleeps 2 and actually has the best view of the lake in the house. We've devised a way to make the pull out far more comfy than most with the use of a stiff panels. There's a wonderful place to pitch a large tent, right off the front porch on the top of the driveway. This spot is great if you want some more privacy or are in need of additional accommodations for a couple or kids. Guest access The beach is right across a private,quiet, deadend road and is very kid friendly. The sandy beach and large grassy area are great for fun activities. Our section of the boat house is loaded with beach toys, life jackets, fishing gear, floating things, croquet and other equipment. This is a rustic, adirondack experience! While this house has been packed to the gills with people and kids, please remember that it is quite small and there is only one bathroom. This is a summer cottage so amenities are limited. There is no dishwasher, no washer and dryer, no AC. This spot is about getting back to the basics and enjoying the outdoors. It's a fantastic place for hiking, swimming, boating, fishing, biking, enjoying the breathtaking scenery all around you, having fun with friends and family or retreating for a truly romantic getaway. Other things to note The long boathouse down by the beach has equipment, boats etc. in sections designated by each owner. Our section is labeled SMITH and is the second door from the right.It has paddles, life jackets, toys, and some fishing gear. All can be used...our green canoe and two person green kayak are on the beach.
