Please note: You are choosing to vacation in a developing, Caribbean country. Power cuts and internet downtimes are common here, particularly during strong storms. It’s usually for very short periods and resolved quickly. This special place has attracted a diverse expat community. You might see neighbors, construction or simply workers taking care of properties. Wildlife Awareness Our beautiful coastal location is home to diverse marine life. While swimming and wading, please watch for wildlife: • Stingrays are common in shallow, sandy areas (especially during warmer months). They bury themselves in the sand and are not aggressive, but may sting if accidentally stepped on. • Prevention: Always do the “stingray shuffle”—drag or shuffle your feet along the bottom as you enter the water to scare them away rather than stepping directly down. • If stung: Soak the affected area in hot (not scalding) water as soon as possible to neutralize the venom, and seek medical attention if needed. • In rare occasions, other sea life such as crocodiles has been sighted in the area. These sightings are uncommon, but exercise extra caution: avoid swimming alone, at dawn/dusk, or in murky water, and immediately exit the water if any large wildlife is spotted.
