Our camp is on a long dirt road, about three miles long, that crosses three bridges as it travels down Markham Point through state-owned Adirondack Park land. It is vital to travel slowly (15 mph) down the road, as it is a single lane and cars may be approaching from the opposite direction. If this happens, there are cut-offs spaced all along the road to either back into or move forward into to allow a car to pass. There are several other camps on both sides of the end of the point, though none are visible from our camp. We love to run and walk along the road for exercise, flower gathering, and berry hunting. Because the camp is relatively remote, renters should plan to bring a meal or two with them. We usually bring dinner and breakfast with us and make a grocery store run after breakfast on the first day. We provide a water cooler with fresh water supply. Renters are welcome to use the staples available in the pantry. Please note there is no wifi or TV at the camp. It is a great place to retreat and recharge with the lake and the woods. Cell service is generally good and our family typically uses their hotspots to work up there. Verizon has been better in the past, but AT&T has also been working well recently. We can give you a few tips about the best spots if/when you decide to book.
