Real Gambia Holidays were set up with two main aims- to provide holidays which fill the gap between mass tourism in hotels and the complete independence of self catering accommodation and secondly to employ as many local people as possible helping to relieve poverty by providing training and employment We have four apartments three of which sleep 2-4 people and a family house that sleeps 6. Each apartment has a kitchen bathroom lounge and bedroom/s. The apartments are set around a private pool The space We have aimed to create comfortable self-catering holidays combined with an opportunity to spend time living in a Gambian fishing village. There is no hot running water, but the water tanks are stored on the roof so it is warmed by the sun during the day and is tepid by the evenings. The apartments have mains electricity, but there are often power cuts, which is when we get the candles out and listen to the beautiful stillness or the drumming from Ghana Town. We have a small swimming pool exclusively for the use of our guests. We have a maid who will clean your apartment daily, and offers a laundry service if required.
