You'll have your own separate entrance and off-street parking, ensuring a secure and private experience. For your safety, there's a single surveillance camera on the driveway . Off the private deck, enjoy your own hot tub, perfect for soaking under the stars, along with a BBQ grill for easy outdoor dining. Whether you’re sipping coffee in the garden, grilling dinner, or relaxing in the hot tub, this space is designed to help you slow down and reconnect. Ideal for couples seeking a quiet, nature-inspired retreat with unique amenities and a spa-like feel. In the future we will have a cottage-style perennial garden available for our 2026 summer guests to enjoy. We offer complete privacy, you will not hear us and we won't hear you. *Please note that we maintain a strict no-smoking policy inside the premises, which includes tobacco, marijuana, and vaping. Violating this policy will result in a $500 penalty. We encourage you to make use of our spacious garden area instead. A Light Footprint In creating our studio, one of our goals was to recycle and re-purpose as much as possible. We had fun doing it and thought we’d share this list with our guests: *The masonry for the patio came from a Portland school when they updated. *The rocks that surround the patio were buried in the gardens here from the ‘50s. *The decking was removed from Rob’s brother’s house (with permission:) and reinstalled. *The deck framing and masonry supports came from an online ad - the owners were re-designing their back yard. *The ceiling in the apartment is original. We removed the sheetrock, painted the beams, and left the fir attic decking alone. If you look carefully at the ceiling you’ll see the blue grading marks on the lumber from 1945 or so: 3,3,3,2,3 etc *The wood frames inside the wall niches came from old cedar barn wood. *In early 2015, we installed a photovoltaic solar panel system on the roof. You can’t see it from the driveway or the guest side of the house, but it produces enough electricity to power almost all the needs of the house, including the hot tub. We try to not use any herbicides, and recycle just about everything that the recycling people will take. Your own private entrance is accessed from your private driveway . There is a locked interior door connecting to the main part of the house. We use a keyless entry system. Each guest receives a unique access code 1 week before arrival. NOTE: The driveway is monitored for security purposes. There are no other surveillance cameras on our property, either inside or out. Your privacy and comfort are valued and extremely important to us. Other things to note Oregon has legalized recreational marijuana use, but it is not legal to use it in public. You are welcome to take advantage of the privacy of the yard/garden, but please do not use in the apartment. We want you to enjoy the space we have provided for you, relax, and have a good time! PLEASE NOTE YOU WILL INCUR A $500 PENALTY IF YOU USE INSIDE OUR HOME! Although the apartment is attached to the owners' home, the living spaces are separated by multiple rooms, and sound-proofed walls. Extra detail has gone into planning your privacy. This is a City Permitted property.
