The space ENVIRONMENT Surrounded by the Tanzanian bush and located on the Ngerengere River, Eco Camp is the perfect destination for all age groups dreaming of experiencing Tanzanian life (75% of Tanzanians live in rural areas). It is an ideal place to relax in a peaceful, natural environment. ACCOMMODATION Our camp is unique: our bungalows incorporate natural materials wherever possible, complemented by durable modern elements. The houses come in different sizes. Each bungalow has a private bathroom and the beds include mosquito nets. For camping lovers, we have plenty of space for tents as well as a public shower and toilet for campers. Apart from the bungalows, we have a big dining hall, a kitchen, a small bar with space for playing cards and a great campfire area. FOOD Enjoy our freshly cooked food! We offer three typical Tanzanian meals per day - also suitable for vegetarian guests. We can also arrange campfire barbecues. The specified price includes the cost of accommodation and breakfast. ACTIVITIES Firstly, you have the chance to explore the natural environment, home to baboons, galagos, beautiful birds, chameleons and other animals. Refresh your mind while sitting on the stones of Ngerengere River. Secondly, we offer a unique cultural tourism experience. Through our extensive social network in the area, we can provide guests with the chance to learn and experience much about the culture of the people of Lukwambe village. Many of our guests find it also very interesting to visit a Masai family nearby. Thirdly, you have the chance to get to know our social projects in Lukwambe. Fourthly, while you stay at Eco Camp you have the opportunity to visit many fantastic places nearby. Our Eco Camp is close to the highway to Mikumi national park which is located in the north of selous - Africa´s biggest game reserve today! We can organize day trips or overnights for you to Mikumi. We recommend this national park because a great variety of animals live there such as zebras, impala, giraffes, wildebeest, lions, buffalo, elephants, hippos, antelopes, monkeys and crocodiles. Mikumi is still not as crowded with tourist cars as many national park in the Northern Zone. Apart from Mikumi, we can arrange safaris to ruaha national park, udzungwa mountains national park and saadani national park. For hiking fans we organize trips to the Uluguru mountains in Morogoro. The Uluguru mountains are 2,600 meters high and the vegetation is very variable, ranging from dry lowland to different types of forest and beautiful water falls! We can organize a day trip or if you aim to reach the top of the mountains, it is also possible to do some camping in the mountains. Fifthly, we offer interesting workshops for our guests at Eco Camp and in Lukwambe. COSTS The costs for food, airport pickups and trips depend on the number of guests and the length of your stay. You are welcome to make a price inquiry. We will prepare a package tailored to your wishes. SERVICES Phones can be charged and lights can be used thanks to our solar power in the main hall. There is no Wi-Fi at the camp, but guests can easily access the internet using their own SIM cards. Mobile signal in the bungalows is limited. However, we have created a designated internet spot, where the connection is strong for social media, messaging and even video calls. We offer pickups from the airport in Dar es Salaam or from the ferry coming from Zanzibar to Dar es Salaam as well. Depending on your preference, we can pick you up with a private vehicle, or an Eco Camp staff member will pick you up and you can both take public transport.
