This 110 year old farmhouse has been updated with all the modern conveniences but retains the charm and uniqueness that makes it exceptional. Surrounded by acres of horse farm, barns and a wonderful pond this homes provides a retreat while still being close to Chapel Hill, Durham and the airport - all a short 15 minute drive away. Walk, cycle or drive to Jordan Lake and enjoy the pleasure of your home from home while being in easy access to all that the lake offers. The space We have filled the home with an eclectic combination of country pieces, art from all over the world and some interesting antiques, all with the goal of creating a space where people will feel at home. There is plenty of space to unwind - inside and out. For parties of more than 4 there is an extra charge for use of the upstairs den/office and the third bedroom. This can be booked by pre-arrangement so we can make this area available This has a desk overlooking the pond, a sitting area with TV (Netflix and Internet available). The upstairs has a queen bed plus to twins, helping to push the total occupancy of the house from four downstairs to an additional 6-7 upon request. Start your day with a cup of coffee on the expansive deck - or share breakfast out there. The areas on the deck are the perfect place to end the day. Enjoy a meal from the outdoor grill - and in the winter share special moments by the fire-pit with friends and family. Guest access As our guest you will have the freedom of the whole lower level of the house - and the surrounding outdoor areas. The area allocated for guests is on the first floor - there is an upper area that has an office, den and two twin plus a queen size bed. We have recently updated this with heat and air and it is available for additional guests for an additional fee. There is a double carport and plenty of outside parking. The surrounding fields are occupied by horses and dogs from the main house but on request, and at your own risk, you can enjoy walking through the acreage or sitting by the pond in a variety of seating areas. Other things to note This is a historic property and we appreciate your consideration of the plumbing and septic system - as well as the need to conserve power.
