The Harriet House is a culmination of over 50 years of combined management experience, construction expertise and craftsmanship expressed in a 2 bedroom house inspired get away suite located just steps away from Albert Lea's crown jewel, Fountain Lake. This space occupies one side of a duplex and has a straight flight of stairs when you open the front door. Amenities include a smart TV, cable, free high speed Wi-Fi, blue tooth speaker in bath light/fan, front load washer/dryer, detergent, iron/spray starch, portable fan, alarm clocks, and hair dryer for your needs. The main floor features a living room with a smart TV, dining room with rustic table and benches and a well appointed kitchen. The master bedroom is decorated as you might expect a lake house get away might be. Additionally, the barn door headboard and detailed barn wood wall art were crafted by a local Albert Lea artist. He is one of only 3 known artists creating masterful artwork from original turn of the century barn wood. The second bedroom doubles as a workable office space with the convenience of a desk and a queen sized Murphy Bed. Great care was taken in choosing a modern Murphy Bed frame with adequate support and a very luxurious mattress. Additionally, the second bedroom has a kitchenette with a microwave, apartment size fridge (contains complimentary water & soda), coffee maker and flavored coffee variety. The tiled shower with modern glass, tile bench, bluetooth speaker/exhaust fan and dual shower heads will invite you to unwind from your day, while the comfort of the high end locally sourced mattresses leave you relaxed for whatever your following day presents. When you stay with us, please park in the driveway next to the building as it is a narrow street. Once you've gained access to the space you have freedom to use full upper floor and front yard. The Harriet House is located on a quiet side street only 3 house from Fountain Lake and is only steps from Mayo Hospital. Our comfortable space is walking/biking distance to all of the activities of downtown Albert Lea. The beauty of Albert Lea is that it is a small town. You can either use your vehicle, walk or rent a bike from the Broadway bike store downtown. Albert Lea has a walking path that goes around the lake and is approximately 5 miles. Please note that it does take a couple minutes for the hot water to reach the 2nd level. It will warm up nicely for you. We request that guests please utilize the paper towels or hand towel provided near the coffee machine for any spills. Do not use the luxury linen towels. Upon checkout, please leave all bed linens on the beds & we will take care of everything after checkout. Be sure to lock front door when checking out.
