Please carefully review our full property description and image captions and let us know if you have any questions! Number of Guests: - We can accommodate up to 8 guests. Children over the age of 2 count as a guest. We require that the person making the reservation will be staying onsite as a guest. This Property is Ideal for: - This property is well-suited for families and friend groups who want to enjoy Leelanau together and stay under one roof. While this property is not baby-proofed, we are able to accommodate babies and young children and have baby gear available for rent. Please note that this property is not a party house, and while we commonly host groups attending weddings, we are not a good fit for those expecting to partake in rowdy behavior. The expectation is that our rules will be followed and physical property and management team will be treated with the upmost respect no matter the reason for your visit. Interior Layout + Room Description: - This property is on one level and does not have any interior staircases that guests can access. - The spacious living room boats two comfy couches, two accent chairs, a TV and select games for guest entertainment. - Bedrooms 1 and 2 have queen beds + 4 standard pillows, blackout curtains, and closets. - The main full bathroom is located by bedrooms 1 and 2. This bathroom has a shower/tub. - Bedrooms 3 and 4 have king beds have ensuite bathrooms + 4 king pillows, and blackout curtains/blinds. Bedroom 3 has a closet, built-in vanity, and a full ensuite bathroom with a walk in shower. Bedroom 4 has a vanity desk, clothing rack, and a half ensuite bathroom. The laundry area is also located in Bedroom 4. - The kitchen is located off the living room and has everything a guest needs to prepare home-cooked meals. Major appliances include a refrigerator, oven/stove, and dishwasher. Small appliances include a toaster, microwave, and drip coffee maker. There is seating for 8 in the kitchen between the island and round table. Guests will appreciate the provided complimentary items like spices, olive oil, coffee, and teas. Exterior Spaces: - The cottage is located on a serene 2-acre parcel with a spacious and private backyard. - The front deck off the main entrance faces a 50 acre apple orchard. - The back deck is located off the kitchen and has a picnic table and grill. - A bonfire area is in the center of the backyard and includes chairs, a solo stove, bistro lights, and fire tools. Guests will enjoy being able to stargaze here without light pollution! - The barrel sauna is located on the east side of the backyard is is available to use year round. Whether starting or ending your day with a sauna session, guests will love taking in panoramic views of the countryside while detoxing and rejuvenating. - A raised garden bed area is located next to the shed (used for private storage) and guests are welcome to enjoy the herbs and flowers during the summer and fall months. Property Location: - This four-season property makes for a wonderful getaway for families and groups anytime of the year and is centrally located on the Leelanau Peninsula. - This property is an ideal for launching off point to the many Leelanau Peninsula wineries, as there are dozens of wineries within a 5-10 minute drive. Cyclists will enjoy easy access to road biking, paved trails, and mountain biking trails. Nearby beaches can be found in Suttons Bay, Leland, and along Good Harbor Bay. - We are located next door to Aurora Cellars, which is open daily May-November and Thursday-Sunday during December-April. Please visit auroracellars(dot)com for current hours and offerings. - In the winter, there is a ski and snowshoe trail that is accessible from Aurora Cellars tasting room. In the town of Lake Leelanau you will find the following: - 5 Restaurants - 2 Public Boat Launches - 1 Grocery store - 1 Playground - 1 Distillery - 3 Wineries - 1 Deli + Specialty Wine Shop - 1 Coffee Shop - 1 Ice Cream Shop (Capital Dogs) - Boat Rental and Repair options - A handful of retail shops Driving time to local towns: - Lake Leelanau, 5 minutes - Leland, 10 minutes - Suttons Bay, 10 minutes - Northport, 15-20 minutes - Sleeping Bear Dunes 25-30 minutes - Glen Arbor, 20-25 minutes - Downtown Traverse, 30-35 minutes **IMPORTANT** - We are a non-smoking, no pet property and hold strongly to our policies in order to provide an allergen-free space for guests. - WE REQUIRE THAT THE PERSON MAKING THE RESERVATION WILL BE STAYING AS A GUEST DURING THE ENTIRE STAY. YOU CANNOT MAKE A RESERVATION FOR SOMEONE ELSE. WE CANNOT TRANSFER RESERVATIONS TO A DIFFERENT GUEST IF YOUR PLANS CHANGE. - GUESTS MUST REVIEW OUR PROPERTY RULES AND POLICIES BEFORE BOOKING Guest access Guests will have access to all of the non-locked living space of the house. Other things to note If booking on a Saturday night mid-May through the end of October, there will be music from the nearby wedding venue, but there will be no event noise by 11:00pm. Firewood is not stocked at the property and guests are responsible for purchasing their own firewood for the bonfire.
