Nettles Nest Country Inn

Nettles Nest is a rustic cabin nestled in the piney woods of northeast Texas in the small town of Redwater, just outside of Texarkana. It is located on a 5 acre lake. It's a great place to unplug. No Wifi. Fish (bring your own pole,etc.), swim, paddleboat, kayak, relax on the deck or under the pavilion. Good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families , and pets (2 maximum) No large groups. No parties. The space NEWLY REMODELED IN SUMMER OF 2023! The cabin is one room with a kitchen area and bathroom, with covered deck. No Wifi or Satellite TV. So if you must have that, this isn't the place for you. It has an attached covered deck overlooking the lake. Kitchen is stocked with dishes, pots and pans, utensils, etc., as well as a Nu-Wave cooktop, microwave, electric skillet, toaster oven, coffee maker, coffee, water and snacks. TV with Blue ray DVD player with lots of movies to choose from. Fishing is allowed, but you'll need to bring your own pole and tackle. And please be careful and don't leave lures or hooks or fishing line laying around where pets or kids could find them. No trotlines allowed. Life jackets provided but none for infants. A paddle boat & 2 kayaks are available for use. Texas state law requires children 12 and under to wear a life jacket whenever they are in a boat on the water. A gas grill and charcoal grill, as well as a Camp Chef outdoor stove are on site. There's a fire ring for campfires and some firewood available. A couple of short trails behind the cabin go along an exotic animal reserve. Mosquitos may be bad at certain times. We do what we can to help with that, with citronella torches, etc. But best to come prepared. Bring long sleeves and OFF. Guest access You'll have the place to yourself. Only one cabin on site. If you'll be pulling a trailer, please let us know before you arrive. We have a different way for you to come in. Other things to note Our rate is $125. per night for up to 2 people. Holiday rates are slightly more. Maximum of 4 with additional charge of $15. per person per night for over 2 people. Any day visitors MUST be approved by us IN ADVANCE and will increase the charges. Unapproved visitors will be asked to leave immediately. No large groups. Texas Hotel Occupancy tax is 6% ($7.20) which will be added and collected by airbnb. We are pet friendly, but we need to know in advance if you’ll be bringing pets and how many. We allow up to 2 pets at no added charge as long as our pet rules are followed. We do not allow pets on the bed or futon. If you disregard this, you will be charged a cleaning fee. ($50 minimum.)
