VILLA THE DAMMUSO OF NOTO
Dating back to the 13th century, Villa Dammuso is ideal for those who’d love to treat themselves to a relaxing holiday surrounded by nature and tranquility. Nestled in Noto countryside, a short distance from Syracuse, Palazzolo Acreide, Modica and Ragusa Ibla and the beaches of Vendicari, Calamosche, Eloro and Marina di Noto, it has kept the old stone vaulted ceiling unchanged, and features majolica tiles of Caltagirone. The outdoor pergola, equipped with a table, chairs and built-in barbecue, is perfect for a meal or a relaxing drink with a view. Also from the bedroom you can enjoy a beautiful panorama, starring Noto and the south-eastern coast. South-eastern Sicily truly has everything you may desire: crystal clear sea, wild nature and astonishing works of art and of architectures. The cities of Noto, Modica, Scicli and Ragusa Ibla are the best architectural examples left nowadays from the flowering Baroque Age in Europe, with their churches and the precious buildings. The Church of San Giovanni Battista and Palazzo Bertini can be visited in Ragusa Ibla, while in the unique city of Modica there are the Cathedral of San Giorgio, placed on the Iblean upland and the Church of San Pietro, in the valley. Last but not least, the small and medieval Palazzolo and the baroque capital city of Noto are worth a visit, thanks to their vivid streets and noble buildings, such as Palazzo Ducezio. Architecture and culture are the main traits of Val di Noto together with a rich culinary tradition, originated from the melting pot of culture and people who have passed by through the centuries, leaving a piece of their immense traditions and culinary secrets. For wild nature and sea lovers, there are amazing and wild beaches: Calamosche, Vendicari with its Wildlife Park and the precious San Lorenzo. Also, the seafront of Tonnara di Avola, the fisherman village of Marzamemi and Isola delle Correnti, an eye-catching landscape where Mar Ionio and Canale di Sicilia meet. Sicily is beauty, it is a wild land with a long past and it impossible to forget at first glance. The airport of Catania Fontanarossa is about 84 km far away, while Comiso “Pio La Torre” airport is 72 km far. Pets are welcome, with an extra cost of € 30 for final cleaning.
