Welcome to "Seaside Escape," a cozy beach-themed retreat designed to give you a wonderful stay in our centrally located house in beautiful San Diego. We know you will love this relaxing “home-away-from-home!” The space Private Bedroom Our "Seaside Escape" private bedroom is decorated with a coastal theme and is perfect for one person. The room comes complete with a full-size bed and all brand-new furniture including a desk and chair for laptop-friendly workspace, dresser with mirror, relaxing accent chair and large closet. The bed has a brand-new memory foam mattress and the sheets are 100%-cotton. Sheets AND pillows are washed in hot water for each new guest! The room comes with a snack station which includes a coffee maker, refillable reverse-osmosis water, an assortment of coffees and teas, snacks, and organic breakfast treats (instant oatmeal, toaster pastries and breakfast bars). The door has a lock and you will have your own personal key for it, along with a key to the house. Two Shared Bathrooms: You will share a nicely renovated full bathroom (wide tub with multi-function showerhead) as well as a half bathroom with one or two other guests (depending on occupancy). Clean bath towels are included, and you have your own shelf in the medicine cabinet, a drawer in the large vanity, and a shelf in the shower for your items. Guest access Common areas in the house are shared so make yourself at home! David and I generally hang out in the family room so the living room is available for guests if desired, or you can just hang out in your room -- whichever you prefer! Our kitchen is available for use, including a double oven, stovetop, microwave and toaster oven. Cookware, dishes and utensils are readily available. We have a reverse-osmosis and alkaline drinking water system available in the kitchen. You also have the use of a separate full-size refrigerator that is specifically for guests’ use. Washer and dryer use is included for free and we supply laundry soap and dryer sheets at no extra charge or you can purchase your own at a store. Backyard: Feel free to spend time outside lounging around our pool, reading a book, working on your laptop, or just relaxing and soaking up the sun. The pool is unheated but is usually warm enough for swimming during the summer months. Other things to note Room Cleanliness When searching for a place to stay, whether a bed-and-breakfast or a hotel, you always wonder just how clean the bedding is. Several years ago, we watched an investigative story about three hotel chains that often did not even change the sheets between guests! Unfortunately, we personally found that to be true ourselves! So we are determined to put your mind at ease, especially now with Covid. After every guest, we wash the sheets, towels and even pillows in hot water and dry them on high heat.
