Quiet residential street, lots of natural light, private back yard, one block from popular restaurants, three blocks from a sandy surfing and swimming beach and within walking distance of many restaurants and shops in downtown La Jolla as well as the Cove, Children's Beach and the famous seals and sea lions. Also available within a few blocks radius, a variety of gyms, Pilates, Yoga, Spinning businesses. Yoga mat and towel provided. Dogs welcome but not over 50 Pounds and must be kenneled at night and not left alone on the property. Two bedrooms, one with a King bed one with a Full bed. Also available, an air mattress for additional guests in large living room. There are plenty of linens and extra pillows. Please note that the ceiling fans operate independent of the wall light switch, they are controlled by a pull chain. The washer and dryer are standard size and all detergent is provided. They are located in the patio area. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking and baking utensils, salt, pepper, spices, an assortment of oils. Three types of coffee makers with coffee supplied and a variety of black and herbal teas. Shopping bags are provided for your convenience. The spacious tropical garden backyard has plentiful comfortable seating with barbecue for dining al fresco. There is an ice chest, five beach chairs, sand toys and I have three boogie boards and two surf boards, and two beach cruiser bikes and a small child’s bike for your use as well. Please treat the beach accessories well and rinse them off and put them in the shade when not using. Local business rents at reasonable rates all infant and children's supplies-Checkout the San Diego Tourism Authority and, if traveling with children, check out the company Toddler’s Travels which rents everything for children. La Jolla is situated on the Pacific Ocean. Our house is a 10 minute walk from all the attractions. Along the dramatic coastline lies Scripps Park, where families can picnic throughout the summer, while enjoying Fourth of July fireworks and concerts under the stars. Just south of the park is the Children’s Pool, where a seawall was originally built to protect kids from incoming waves, but has been long taken over by a local seal colony. At some times of the year swimming is no longer permitted, but you can walk out along the seawall for a close-up view of the wildlife. La Jolla is also home to Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institute of Oceanography and plenty of cultural attractions including the La Jolla Playhouse and the Museum of Contemporary Art, all situated in close proximity to The Village, and our house. The University of San Diego, which hosts the popular Geisel Library and the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, are both located in La Jolla as well, a short car or bus ride up the coast from our house. La Jolla's biggest draw for locals and visitors alike are the beautiful beaches. During the summer and autumn months, the surf is relatively gentle, with warm waters in 70s. Swimmers, snorkelers, scuba divers, kayakers and surfers can enjoy the golden sands of La Jolla Shores, the Cove and Windansea, all within walking distance of the house. It’s a shared driveway so please stay to the left side of the driveway. Go up the steep driveway at an angle so as not to scrape the bottom of your vehicle. Please always double check when backing out of the driveway to make sure there are no pedestrians walking on the sidewalk. Restaurants of all kinds, local library, public tennis courts and recreation center, specialties shops, grocery stores, cafes and, of course, the Pacific Ocean and the interesting flora and fauna of Southern California.
