Relax into the cozy "hygge" life at our A-frame cabin. Fast WiFi, mid century accents and clean and comfortable beds—located in the woods between Twain Harte and Sonora. Stay in to enjoy Aframe life or use as a base for exploring the Sierras (the cabin is 90 min from Yosemite!) - Ideal for remote work, couples getaway, or small families - Near great hiking, swimming, snow play, gold country, parks + food - Fast WIFI, Roku TV, multiple work spaces, vinyl, books, games, toys Mid century modern decor, easy access to nature and cozy atmosphere make the Scandinavian concept of "hygge" come alive at our Sierra Hygge Haus. The cabin sits in a residential neighborhood surrounded by trees, yet close enough to town for an easy drive for supplies or a meal out. Visit us on IG: @sierrahyggehaus/#sierrahyggehaus **Our cabin is always professionally cleaned before each guest arrives. We follow best practice cleaning and disinfection protocols to ensure your comfort and safety. Our kitchen features is fully stocked with everything you should need. The six burner gas stove is ready for your culinary endeavors (or at the very least lazy Saturday morning pancakes!), and french press coffee maker, tea kettle and fondue pot are at the ready. There is a gas grill on the back deck for perfect evening BBQs and dining al fresco under the pines. The open dining area and living room make for an excellent gathering space, and the dining table comfortably sits up to six. There are two bedrooms, a loft and two bathrooms in the cabin: it works well for a couples weekend away, a small group of friends or family. The master bedroom upstairs has a king-sized bed with Tuft N Needle mattress, writing desk, and space for a pack'n'play to be set up. Down the hall is the upstairs bath (with toilet and shower) and loft area that opens onto a second floor patio. The second bedroom is on the main floor down the hall from the kitchen and features a large bunk bed with a full sized bed on the bottom, a twin on top and a twin trundle underneath (essentially a triple bunk, sleeps up to 4). This room has wooded views out two large windows and a small closet with children's books and toys. Across the hall is the second bathroom with tub and shower, and laundry facilities should you require them. There is a gas grill outside on the back deck (along with two tables and seating for 6) which make for excellent evenings on the patio. There is a smart TV in the loft so you can log into your streaming TV services like Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. for movie night. TV not your thing? The living room has a record player and collection of eclectic vinyl to occupy your time, and there are books for all ages throughout the house, with special selections detailing the life of John Muir and the Sierra region. Kids (young and old!) can play and roam outside in the yard or walk the neighborhood while adults relax with a drink on the large patio which spans three sides of the house. The second floor patio is great for morning yoga or sitting down with a book and good cup of coffee. If you have children in your group, we are child friendly and have pack n'play, high chair, utensils, etc on site. Note: Parties and events of any kind including photo shoots are prohibited unless officially arranged with the host. Make sure your reservation accounts for every person staying. Please do not invite extra guests over other than those included in your reservation. No dogs or animals of any kind are allowed. The cabin is designed to be both stylish and vintage, yet comfortable. It is in a rural subdivision, so there are neighbors nearby, yet immersed in nature. Please feel at home - we hope you enjoy our space nicely as you would your own. There is absolutely no smoking in the house, backyard or on the deck, and no pets or animals allowed. The house lends itself to entertaining but is NOT a party house - this is a family neighborhood that respects quiet hours between 10pm-7am. There is fast internet access throughout the house and on the patio. This house is ideal if you want a quiet and well appointed retreat, conveniently located in the forest just minutes outside the quaint mountain town of Twain Harte and up the hill from historic Sonora - we hope to welcome you! Feel free to inquire about weekly or monthly rentals. Guests will have access to the entire house, apart from select closets and storage areas, and the basement area beneath the cabin. A short drive up the mountain is Pinecrest Lake. Activities include: hiking around the beautiful lake (3.5 ml), fishing, rent paddle boats or kayaks, relax on the beach, discover Cleo's Bath, horseback riding or watching a movie under the stars at the Pinecrest Amphitheater. Year round, guests can explore the following points of interest: The charming town of Twain Harte which is a seven minute drive from the cabin. Twain Harte has restaurants and bars for nightlife, a nine hole golf course, miniature golf and a public swimming pool. Yosemite National Park is approximately 80 miles from the cabin. A beautiful drive through the Sierras. We are less than 10 minute drive from Downtown Twain Harte, about 15 minutes from Sonora, 30 minutes to Dodge Ridge Ski Area and Pinecrest Lake, and around 90 minute drive from Yosemite (2 hrs to Yosemite Valley). Groceries, Gasoline, Pharmacy and Medical Facilities are all within a 10-15 minute drive from the cabin. Access Our property has a flight of stairs that lead to the main level of the cabin. Additionally, there is a staircase that leads up to the loft / second bedroom. Our cabin does not have ramps or wheelchair access currently; although we hope to offer in the future. Snow In winter, snow chains can be required on Hwy 108 and the roads leading to the cabin. Please keep apprised of weather conditions and have chains available should you need them. We have provided a shovel for the property, located at the rear door where you will enter. You will be required to shovel the entrance during a snowstorm. Parking We have flat gravel driveway that parks up to three average sized vehicles in the summer and one large SUV or two small vehicles in the winter. In the winter months if it is snowing you will be required to park on the driveway and not the road. This is to ensure that the snowplow vehicles are able to plow. This might require shoveling snow on driveway to access a parking spot. Wood Stove In the winter months only we allow pre-approved usage of the wood stove. We recommend bringing up (or buying locally) dry firewood and fire starter sticks to help start a fire in the woodstove. If you are not familiar with making a fire we recommend that you bring up extra kindling. That could be fire starter sticks , old magazines or newspaper. Groceries The closest grocery store is Twain Harte Market right up the mountain in Twain Harte (< 10 min. drive). They have an excellent selection of food, wine, cheeses, and some local specialities. If you are coming from the Bay Area and would like to get groceries on the way, the Grocery Outlet just off the 108 in Oakdale has a decent selection of BIO/organic foods, wine and snacks). And while there why not take a look at the Cowboy museum!! There are also many excellent rural farm stands between Manteca and Oakdale that offer local produce and even fresh baked pies during the holidays season.
