You are greeted by the brightly lit living room that overlooks Cascade Creek with amazing views of the mountains and forests. Home is equipped with a large kitchen, bar area, 3 large bedrooms, 3 baths, and an upstairs loft area. Other amenities include: pool table, multiple outdoor decks, and detached 2 car garage. You have access to the entire house. You must have a 4 wheel drive vehicle with snow chains during the Winter months. The open floor plan on the main level is great for entertaining. The main-level has a large master suite with walk-in closet, private covered balcony, bathroom with a large tub and shower. Up the stairs is a second open living area, guest bedroom with a queen size bed and triple bunk bed. There is a 3/4 bathroom, washer and dryer, and second master suite. The second suite has walk-in closet, full bathroom, and private covered balcony. There is also a carport/wood shed located at the end of the driveway. The house does not have Central A/C. The average temperature in the Summer during the day is 73, and at night is 43. Up in the mountains where we are located, the temperature is usually much cooler than downtown Durango. The house does have Central Heat, a Fireplace with lots of firewood on the property. This is required by our HOA, and for your safety. During November-February this is required. Lake Purgatory Drive is dangerous to drive on, and we don’t want our guests stuck in the snow. The house is located less than a mile from Purgatory Ski Resort. Downtown Durango is approximately 20 miles. Durango Hot Springs is 18 miles. There are numerous hiking and bike trails & we do have two brand new bikes for our guests to use. The house is in the heart of the San Juan National Forest. VERY IMPORTANT: From November- February, Lake Purgatory Drive is very dangerous to drive on. YOU MUST HAVE 4 wheel drive vehicle and snow chains to get to our house, and to go up and down our driveway. This is required by our HOA. It’s also for for your safety.
