While you enjoy elevated privacy you can also treat yourself to a soaker tub with double shower heads or settle down in a cozy reading nook to enjoy a good book! You'll also be walking distance to some amazing restaurants and super close to the best of San Diego, including downtown, the beach and the zoo! It's a perfect place to recharge after a long day of business or pleasure! The space The "Golden Hill Tree House" is the cozy eclectic Southern California version of a tree house, elevated between two mature 30 foot trees. To access the tree house you walk up an exterior stair case to a private second story deck, the spot where many guests welcome the day with a morning cup of coffee or relax at sunset with a glass of wine under a canopy of string lights. From the deck you enter the house through french doors. This main level includes a full kitchen, living area, laundry, bathroom and work desk area with high speed ethernet connection perfect for guests who are also working during their stay. The Tree House also has it's own exclusive wi-fi connection great for streaming to any personal device. The open layout incorporates tons of natural light, vaulted ceilings, views and a window niche great for cozying up with a good book or settling in for a comfy afternoon nap. The bathroom boasts a deep soaker tub designed for two and double shower heads that all the guests love. The bedroom loft is up another set of stairs on the third level. With large windows facing the tree tops, the bedroom offers a peaceful retreat. Off the bedroom is a small nook with hand painted walls depicting ocean life and one of San Diego's most historic land marks, the Point Loma Light House on Cabrillo National Monument. In case you forget to pack some reading material this nook includes shelves stocked with an abundant variety of books, novels and magazines. For your entertainment, there are a variety of board games, a stereo/CD player with Bluetooth connection, and a 43" smart TV with local and premium channel HBO, and a variety of our favorite DVD movies. Guest access We no longer provide a dedicated off-street parking space, but parking on the street is free and fairly easy to find during the day, just know that it gets very crowded especially after 4pm. A good percentage of our guests use ride sharing for their entire stay, since almost everything is so close, but for those who don’t, we highly recommend doing so for evening activities to avoid the hassle of finding a parking spot. The tree house itself is located on the second floor above our detached garage in the back end of the property. You can access the tree house staircase either by walking through our front yard arched gate and past the right side of our house, or from the alley where you’ll find a steel gate with a digital lock. The four digit code is shared with guests a day or two before their arrival. Just let me know in advance if you will be arriving after dark, so I can have a few lights turned on for you. Most guests prefer self check-in, but if I'm available, I'm always happy to walk you through the Tree House and give you the .10 cent tour:) Other things to note We are a within walking distance to several trendy cafes, restaurants and markets, and only three blocks to Starbucks. If you're into golf, we are also less than 1 mile from the Balboa Park Golf course, with a 9 and 18 hole course. Clubs and carts can be rented at the pro shop. Be sure to check out our guidebook to some of our favorite places in and around San Diego! Also this note, the bathroom is on the main floor below the bedroom, so night time trips there can be an inconvenience, especially for older guests. Registration number STR-02475L, 644833
