A short, five minute drive will get you to Ferndale's lovely downtown, with Western Market on 9 Mile Road, where you can find organic produce and vegan food or the convenience of Meijers. 10 minutes, and you've got a Trader Joe's and the local Westborn Market, or the Zoo, if that's your fancy. 15 minutes to the hip Midtown/Cass Corridor, and twenty minutes to the heart of downtown or the cool of Corktown.
