Description
Right in Kingston's historical Stockade District, this garden-level apartment blends original 18th-century decorative features like dutch doors and a large stone hearth with modern amenities like a washer/dryer and easy keyless entry. It's part of the Colonel Abraham Hasbrouck House, a registered historical landmark built in 1735. The space The apartment has a new bathroom and kitchen, and was recently renovated using a good deal of wood milled from trees in the backyard. It features original exposed beams and wide-board pine floors, as well as two decorative fireplaces, including the wall-to-wall living room hearth with a recently uncovered beehive oven. The apartment is cleaned according to Airbnb's enhanced cleaning protocol. It has a small Roku TV, and an infant pack and play. Internet is powered by the fastest tier available. Guest access The apartment is in the back of the house, accessible from the left side via a newly laid bluestone staircase. Parking is available on-street across from the house, and usually easy to find after 5pm on weekdays. Other things to note We've worked hard to restore the character of the apartment and show off its original features, but keep in mind that in a 284-year-old building there's bound to be some rough edges: the wide pine floors are slightly uneven, and the beam-and-board architecture means you might hear footsteps from upstairs in the morning and evening (though not during quiet hours between 9pm and 7am).
