Description

It's a Teeny Tiny Guesthouse! Enter the words "tiny guesthouse tour" in your search engine or follow the instructions in the 2nd photo to see the video. Trust me, it's totally worth it! Also, click on the photo for more photos. :) The price is the price. No hidden extra "cleaning" charges! Those are for the hosts who want to scam you. But that's not really my thing. Trust me, have I ever lied to you? The space I built a teeny tiny guesthouse in my backyard, between the Garage Majal and the old millworkers house in the middle of Seattle's exciting Fremont neighborhood! It's 68 sq' and can sleep 3 (if two of the three are a couple) using the sleeping loft that lets out onto the rooftop view lawn or, my not yet patented, "Garage Door Murphy Bed". There's a teeny tiny full bath (toilet, sink, shower) and a secret bathtub beneath the floor. It is private from the other living areas on the property although, being right in town, stepping outside may put you in contact with (gasp!) actual other people. There are times when people hang out to chat, BBQ, sing and laugh downstairs, as it should be. Remeber, this is in the city. It's not a quiet retreat for the noise sensitive. That said, I've gotten very few complaints about noise. There is no TV but good fast wifi for your laptop and a cool old radio with iPod plug in! (just set the selector dial to "aux" and plug the little wire into your headphone jack) I built it primarily for guests and my roomates guests but there are lots of times when it just sits empty so I put it up here on airbnb! If you'd like to stay in a truly unique little place 1 block from the Centre of the Universe then this might be for you! I strongly encourage you to watch the video to get a really good sense of just how tiny the space is and if it would function well for you. I know, now it's a pain in the ass to type in the URL and I'm hopping mad at airbnb for taking down the hyperlink but there it is. The fact is, they're a good service but also, marketing aside, just another giant multinational corporation trying to snuggle up and look like your best friend while protecting themselves from imagined threats on all sides. You and I have to work with and around them as best we can to make sure that each of us ends up having a good experience. So far, so good. I've filled out their neighborhood guide up there with lots of my recommendations for places to eat, drink, shop, or just play. Take a little time and see what's up here in Fremont. I've also provided detailed directions that become viewable to you when you book (as well as my phone number). Since I prefer if guests come in the back way to avoid disturbing the tenants in my front house it would be great if, just this once, you could put your GPS away, go old school, and print up the directions. I promise it's actually easier to find me this way! I now have 4 loaner bicycles! Bring your own helmet, I've got a lock. (It's free to use, but $100-175 bucks if you lose one or get it stolen. That's the deal to use them. See "house rules" below.) They're old and cool and reliable with at least 3 speeds each! My personal favourite is Blackie, the Austrian built Sears bike from the 1960s! Just in! Please read the "House Rules" section. There's some stuff there that will help us all get along like hippies in a freshly landscaped city park! One last thing because this is becoming a bit of a problem for me. Communicate - with - me - please - for - the - love - of - god. I strive to greet each guest and make you feel at home both in The Pad and in the neighborhood. But I'm not just sitting at the concierge desk all day and, when you don't communicate with me about your arrival time what you're actually communicating to me is that you don't value my time at all because I have been unable to make any other plans of get anything else done that day beyond waiting for you. Don't be that guy/gal, please. I know you're not. I mean the other guy. You know who you are... Guest access There's a small "grotto lawn" outside the guesthouse that's nice to hang out on in good weather. Below that is a private residence and I usually ask folks not to go down there unless invited by the tenants. Other things to note I have several loaner bikes that your're welcome to use. In Seattle you're "supposed" to wear a helmet so bring one if you like to follow the rules... Registration details STR-OPLI-19-000772
