Schooner Hotel

The Schooner Hotel is a heritage-listed 17th-century inn in the picturesque coastal village of Alnmouth, Northumberland. Next to a sandy beach in central Alnwick, the castle is close by. The hotel is easily accessible from highway A1 and just one mile from Alnmouth’s East Coast Train Station. Newcastle and the Metro Centre are a 40 minute drive away. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful countryside, perfect for walking, and there are several golf courses in the area. The Schooner has 2 cozy bars, dining facilities and an Indian restaurant. The rooms with private bathrooms have free Wi-Fi, TVs and tea/coffee making facilities. The Schooner is rumored to be haunted and has regular paranormal investigation evenings for guests. The Schooner has a rich history, with famous figures such as Charles Dickens, John Wesley, Basil Rathbone and King George III all said to have stayed there. This room can accommodate two adults only.
