Description
Come and escape and relax in the heart of nature. The cottage is located on the edge of a sandy river, excellent for kayaking, canoeing, or paddleboarding. In winter, you can also enjoy cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. The marked downhill skiing, cross country skiing and snowshoeing trails and snowmobiling are 25 km from the chalet. Note that there is no TV or microwave in the cottage. The space Rustic cottage, family construction still inhabited by the owners. They offer you the opportunity to enjoy it during their absence! There is still some finishing work to be done, but the cottage is no less comfortable. The roundwood was cut in the forest less than 20 km from the site. It was peeled, assembled, sanded and varnished by hand by a village craftsman. The owners as well as friends and family participated in the construction and finishing of all the facilities, in addition to the roundwood. The architect is a family friend who has put a lot of time and love into the design and construction of this home in the heart of nature. The windows are south-facing to maximize the entry of light and heat in winter and to prevent and reduce it in summer. The living space is spacious and comfortable for both groups or privacy. Respect for places and spaces is required. A lot of time, reflection and discussion has made this place what it is now, magical! Please enjoy it properly. Guest access The land around the chalet is 40 acres. You have access to the river and a private beach. No one else will have access to the cottage during your booking, except the owners for maintenance or if there is an issue. There is a fireplace inside the cottage as well as an outdoor area for outdoor fire and cooking. Other things to note The Croche River is lined along its entire length with sandy beaches and nature. Swimming is most enjoyable for the whole family. We offer canoe/kayak/SUP and tube rentals with shuttle service, for a river descent. Contact us for more details and visit www.meandre.ca Fishing is possible, there is walleye, pike and white fish. ***Note*** The river water fluctuates enormously. The beach may disappear overnight. It's Mother Nature who manages this, we can't do anything about it! Watch out for the current when the water rises, it can be difficult to go up the river or swim in it. Usually in summer it is low. In winter the landscape is all the more beautiful and the river freezes so there is the possibility of cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling (you must bring your equipment). In winter the main rooms on the 2nd floor (kitchen, dining room and living room) are heated with wood. We accept dogs for a fee of $50/dog/stay. You must pick up your dog's waste out of respect for the next tenants and to keep the place clean. 28 km away, in the city of La Tuque, there is a small mountain for skiing, snowboarding or snow tubing. There are also beautiful cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails. The hot tub is functional year-round. If the rules of use have not been respected by previous guests and thus make it non-functional, we are not guarantors. We'll do our best to make it functional. Wi-Fi generally works very well. On the other hand, given the remoteness, it has happened that it stops working. You'll need to return to the village to contact me so I can call the internet company.
