Camp Moonstruck is nestled on Owl’s Head Mt in the shadow of Cascade. We are conveniently located wether you are planning a hike on Keene’s trails, paddling on the Cascade Lakes, shopping in Lake Placid or exploring the beautiful quaint country roads and towns in the surrounding areas. The Moonstruck cabin is off the beaten path but not too far from town; deer and hummingbirds are frequent guests, stars light up the sky on clear dark nights, and moon beams light your way on others. You will have the cabin to yourselves, as well as the yard area around it, which has a fire pit and picnic table for your use. Our family home is also on the property, however a footpath and the woods provide for plenty of privacy . Camp Moonstruck borders state wilderness land. We are just south of the Cascade Lakes and Mt. Trail. Lake Placid is 10 to fifteen minutes away, Whiteface is a scenic 25 to 30 minute drive. If you have any questions, just ask. The cabin shares a private driveway and parking area with the main house. A footpath leads to the cabin, the clearing in front of the cabin has a fire pit and picnic table for your use. We try to always be available via phone or text. If we are at home in the main residence you are more than welcome to knock on our door with any questions, concerns or just to chat. We want to respect your privacy, especially if you traveled here to get away from it all, but we are outgoing and friendly so no need to be shy. We want you to enjoy your stay here. We are located in the town of Keene, home of the high peaks. We are just a couple of minutes from the main road. Our home and cabin are accessible via the end of a private, (somewhat bumpy) dirt road. There are only a few residences in the neighborhood and our property borders state woodland. Hikers, Kids and Critters often walk in the middle of these dirt roads; if you book with us, please commit to driving very slow and carefully. You will need your own transportation to get around. The Ironman - July 28th On this date starting at 7:00 a.m. until sometime late afternoon, traffic will only be allowed towards Lake Placid on Route 73. We welcome your dog, however they may not be left unattended in the cabin nor should they ever be left alone outside as the wildlife puts them at serious risk. If you are bringing your dog(s) please just let us know. Any exceptions to this must be pre-arranged at time of booking. We take the risk of forest fires very seriously, we want you to enjoy your campfires but please use the fire screen and sorry but no smoking, fireworks or sparklers anywhere on our property.
