My place is ski-in/out at Solitude Mountain Resort. You’ll love my place because it's a ground floor unit with high ceilings, resort views and is on the sunny side of the building. You'll also love that it's a lockout unit with two separate private entrances and spaces making it great for a larger group or two groups. And you're steps from restaurants, spa, bar, year round heated pool and some of the most incredible skiing you'll find anywhere! It's ideal for couples and families with kids. The space This is what we like about our space: 1. First floor unit with 9 foot ceilings thorough out - feels large and airier than units on other floors that are nearly all 7.5 to 8 foot ceilings. The ceiling height makes a big difference in the space. 2. The condo faces the west side so can see the resort, village and ice rink and west side is where you get the best light. 3. Lockout versatility. Renting this unit is really like getting two units. One side has a lock out door, separate entrance, full bathroom, fridge and microwave, small table and a king bed, double bed and twin bed that sleeps up to five people (assuming you have two that want to sleep on a double bed - perfect for small kids). On the other side of the lockout is a one bedroom condo with a second room with king bed, a second full bathroom with oversized soaking tub and shower, a full kitchen, dining area and living room with queen sized sofa sleeper and fireplace. This unit will easily accommodate two small groups or families and each can have their own entrance, bathroom and private space. The lockout room is also great if you’re bringing kids as there’s video games on the TV in the back of the lockout and the double bunkbed serves as a couch so easy for kids to have a place to hangout and the adults can spend time in the other space. I have four kids myself and this is a feature we’ve really enjoyed. 4. First floor is very convenient. It’s also nice to just come and go easily with ski gear without having to navigate from the back of the lodge and down elevators. Another advantage is that kids can come and go from the back entrance to the condo and bypass the lodge entrance for quicker access to the snow and ice rink. We also love the location because there’s no one beneath us so we don’t have concerns about kids bothering someone below. 5. Another benefit to the location that most don’t know about is that there are only 9 units on the first floor. On the second through fourth floors there are around 24 units a floor. The parking garage is basement level so there is less traffic down the halls on first floor. Guest access Condo rental includes lobby level ski and snowboard lockers, free underground parking, free laundry facilities and access to Club Solitude. (This includes an outdoor heated pool, sauna, movie theater, gym, game room and hot tubs.) There is also a hot tub in the Powderhorn lodge, six on site restaurants and a spa and bar. Other things to note The village has great amenities including an outdoor pool open year round, multiple hot tubs and sauna, a spa, a number of onsite restaurants, a bar and an ice skating rink – with gas fire pits to keep your hands warm. Deer Valley recently acquired Solitude and is improving the quality of the resort from top to bottom. They've improved amenities, restaurant menus and added a new high speed summit lift. Solitude has a great feel to it. It just feels like a place you can relax. Though it has one of the best mountains in the state, the feel is one of a smaller resort where you rarely wait in lift lines or fight crowds. Resort staff are friendly and you always feel at home.
