Welcome to Casa de la Luz. We are centrally located in Kill Devil Hills & have quick access to both the ocean & sound. We’ve created this two-bedroom upstairs apartment as a place for couples, remote workers, families & friends seeking some quiet space to rejuvenate & unwind. The octagon shape has been a symbolic architectural theme representing regeneration, rebirth & renewal. You'll enjoy private parking, keyless entry, and a private entrance—with no shared spaces—leading you up to the second-floor apartment. Step onto the large wraparound porch, perfect for morning coffee, yoga, reading, or evening drinks under the stars. The shaded seating area offers a cozy outdoor retreat any time of day. Inside, the space opens up into a bright, spacious living area with open floor plan. The living room features a stylish Mid-Century modern couch and armchair, an Ikea Poäng chair with ottoman, side tables, a large-screen TV with Roku and Netflix, and a sleek Italian-style laptop workstation—ideal for remote work. Free WiFi is included, of course. The fully equipped eat-in kitchen includes a dining table, microwave, refrigerator, dishes, pots and pans, cooking utensils, glassware, silverware, and more. A Ninja Coffee maker (with coffee and tea provided) and reverse osmosis drinking water make your mornings easy and refreshing. The master bedroom offers a brand new king-sized mattress, Indonesian bedroom furniture, a reading chair, and a walk-in closet. The ensuite bathroom features a walk-in shower for added comfort and privacy. The guest bedroom includes a cozy queen-size Tempur-Pedic mattress, closet space for your belongings, and access to a separate bathroom with a bathtub/shower. Guest access Our home has two floors: we live on the first floor, and the guest apartment is located on the second floor with its own private entrance. There are no shared spaces, so you'll enjoy complete privacy throughout your stay. Guests have full access to the entire upstairs apartment, including the spacious wraparound deck, perfect for relaxing, dining outdoors, or simply enjoying the peaceful surroundings. Other things to note Over the years, we’ve learned how important it is to make our guests feel both safe and at home during their stay. We follow Airbnb’s enhanced cleaning protocols to ensure a spotless and comfortable environment, and we will continue to do so. The apartment is located on the second floor with its own private entrance. We live downstairs in a separate apartment and fully respect your privacy, but we’re always nearby if you need anything.
