After nearly 200 guest stays, I can say with confidence that folks greatly enjoy and appreciate their time here, whether families, friends, or business groups. Come to read, talk, work, or do nothing at all. The Three Notches Tourist Home has all the charm of an old country home, plus new high-speed Wifi and DishTV. Four bedrooms can accommodate eleven people in two queens, three doubles and one twin. The huge dining area and kitchen with adjoining foyer space give you lots of room to entertain. Almost every room in the house faces an unmatched view of blue mountains, green fields, horses, and a beautiful white house. The front porch, furnished with lots of wicker and an old glider, provides the best view of all, not to mention the breezes. This is a place to relax, celebrate, and retreat. Besides the overwhelming beauty of the 27 acres in the historic Green Springs district, the Three Notches Tourist Home is 25 minutes east of Charlottesville and under an hour to many attractions in the Piedmont area of Virginia like Monticello, Montpelier, and too many breweries and wineries to name, and is only an hour from Richmond. For essentials, there is a modern shopping center ten minutes away with several casual restaurants and groceries. You need a car to get around since this is a rural, or ex-urban setting. The Three Notches Tourist Home was born in the tradition of my maternal grandmother who ran a ten bedroom boarding house called the Norlina Tourist Home in North Carolina. She was and remains my inspiration in life. As Airbnb has grown, I feel the need to emphasize that this is my actual home, not an investment property, which become obvious as soon as you enter the door.
