Ideal for a multi-generational family or friends gathering for special events. Can sleep up to 10 (this includes children). A Guest House (sleeps 4) on property can also be rented. The space ABOUT THE HOUSE: The historic farmhouse (built in early 1900s) has been expanded and modernized with all the conveniences of today, but retains the charm of a country retreat. A large (1,000 SF) wrap around screened-in porch with dining table and wicker furniture overlooks the manicured lawn, fishing pond and wooded field offering a cool place to gather in the summer. The large wood burning firepit in the yard is a place to gather with friends in the cooler months. The house has hardwood floors and 10' ceilings throughout, subway tiled bathrooms, was professionally decorated with custom drapes and furniture and has all the amenities desired - including high speed WIFI, Smart TVs, hairdryers, robes and toiletries for each bathroom. The kitchen has concrete counters, a farm sink, beverage bar and everything necessary to prepare and serve meals. ACTIVITIES: In spring thru fall enjoy: * dining / relaxing on the screened-in porch overlooking the yard and pond * reading in the hammock * sunset drink in the Adirondack chairs on the dock * lawn games (corn hole, softball, bocci, Volleyball, croquet) are stored and available to use on site * swimming or fishing in the pond (poles provided) * a gas grill to BBQ * Ping Pong table in garage * a hike on trails through our woods & explore the farm * the outdoor fire pit to roast S’mores (it's never too hot for S,mores) In the winter enjoy: * a fireplace in the living room for a cozy place to relax inside * books, playing cards and board games in cabinet * the outdoor fire pit to roast S’mores THE PROPERTY: The farm consists of 275 acres with a pond, cattle, horses and crops. The large lawn area is fenced from the pond, but it is easily climbed over and therefore listed as not suitable for young children. CHILDREN under 12: If you wish to include young children in your stay, please send an inquiry to owners to review the conditions before requesting booking. NEED ADDITIONAL SPACE? The property also has a separate guesthouse that can sleep up to 4 people, but is rented independently from the main house. For total exclusivity, or for larger family gatherings, it is recommended to rent both properties. The guesthouse is listed on Airbnb as "The Pond House at Deer Creek Farm, Greencastle". Guest access Guests have access to the pond and dock and trails into the woods. On certain dates the detached guesthouse may be occupied by other guests who will share the pond and outside amenities as well as parking in driveway. If that is the case, both guests will be advised and given assigned location to park. Other things to note There is an adjacent guesthouse that can accommodate 4 people. It is listed and rented separately on Airbnb. It can be rented independently by another family or along with the main house. The property has exterior security cameras and monitored door and window alarms. The alarm system will be disarmed prior to your arrival.
