Easy local driving, biking or public transit to downtown (less than 2 miles away), stadiums, museums, parks, Pike Place Market, the waterfront and the convention center. Conveniently located 2.5 blocks from the Beacon Hill Link Lightrail Station connecting the Sea-Tac airport to downtown Seattle, and easy walking distance (within 2-3 blocks) to a Red Apple grocery store, library, restaurants, cafés, bars, golf course, and multiple businesses. Just 1.5 blocks to an overlook park with sweeping views of the city, mountains and Puget Sound. Easy access to the I-5, West Seattle, Boeing Airfield and Sea-Tac airport (20 minute drive or short ride on Lightrail). House is very bright and cheery with large leaded-glass fir windows and original schoolhouse lights. Cook in our remodeled kitchen and have a long soak in the clawfoot tub. Home has a Roku TV giving access to Netflix, YouTube, Prime video as well as live TV and many apps. This small, clean, smoke-free house was our first happy family home which we lovingly renovated and restored until 2012 when we relocated to Europe for a job transfer. It is fully furnished and the kitchen is well-stocked with all our kitchen gadgets, espresso machine and appliances. The bedroom has 1 Queen-size bed which fits 1-2 adults or 1 adult and 1 child. The couch is not to use as a sleeper and there isn’t floor space for an additional bed, so this listing is only suited for up to 2 adults who can share one bed. If you are traveling with children please let us know; we have a small toddler mattress which can be placed on the floor (not suited for adults), children's bedding, a highchair and toys to make little ones feel welcome. They are stored in the attic and we will arrange for them to be brought down for your visit. The attic is used as storage space for our own belongings and is closed off from the ground floor of the house with a locked door, so the stairs are inaccessible. The house is set well back and is elevated from the street, and has a large front yard. The level of the front yard is elevated slightly from the sidewalk (approximately 6 feet) and there is a flight of stairs with a handrail from the sidewalk up to the front yard. There are a few steps from the garden up to the house porch. The guest area inside the house is only the ground level. Free and easy-to-find street parking is available with our guest pass. Our neighbourhood is on top of a hill overlooking the Puget Sound, and while the neighbourhood is generally quiet and peaceful, you will hear the sounds of distant trains, foghorns from ships and airplanes overhead. We care about the friends and neighbors who live in our great neighborhood, and are happy to share our space with considerate and respectful guests. No smoking or pets. Our time zone (CET) is 9 hours ahead of Seattle but we will respond as quickly as possible to booking inquiries. The hosts are able to communicate in English, German, French and Spanish. Thanks for considering our home for your stay! Guest access Ground floor of the house. The attic and stairs to the attic are not accessible. Free street parking for one vehicle is available with our guest pass, and it is usually easy to find parking directly in front of the house. Free parking without guest pass is available across the block to the west for an additional vehicle. Other things to note There is a small laundry room and storage area off the back of the kitchen, with free access to a washer and dryer. Registration details STR-OPLI-19-003115
