Make it Maldon! Visit Maldon for its many features and events, and enjoy it from the comfort of a quintessential country house. Overlooking the railway station and Mt Alexander, there's a regular steam train, and the shops and cafes of Maldon are less than 400m. Opposite, the Maldon bike/walk trail winds through the Diggings Maldon's a half hour from Bendigo, Marysborough and Daylesfod, Castlemaine is just 17 minutes. There's plenty of actibities on, check Fairbank's webpage/socials for news The space Fairbank's surrounded by large secure gardens and its accessibility features are ideal for family members to relax in Fairbank's interesting gardens and watch the birds. The front verandah is ideal for enjoying a morning coffee (from the three complementary options) or a glass of wine (or Henry's cider) as the setting sun lights up the slopes of Mount Alexander across the valley. Also across the road is the steam train for rides Wednesdays and weekends, and the Maldon Goldfields Trail waiting to be explored. A short walk down the street takes you past the Beehive Chimney to Maldon's heritage Main and High Streets. Here you can visit the bakery, award-winning butcher, the Le Sel deli and the newer Maldon Providor, enjoy a coffee or meal in one of the many cafes or take your time over a drink at the equally iconic Kangaroo Hotel, the wine bar, or the Maldon Hotel. There's art galleries, book and craft shops, the Maldon and District Museum and the Vintage Machinery Museum, a drawcard for car or steam machinery buffs. There's climbs (and great views) on our own Mount Tarrengower, car access of course, and country lanes aplenty. Visit Lake Cairn Curran, and enjoy all the features that central Victoria offers.
