Motherwell House-entire house-countryside stay

Welcome to the historical Perth area. We hope you will enjoy your stay at our rural setting, close to amenities but surrounded by the sounds of the countryside. Our house has all the comforts of home with beautiful open vistas visible out each window. This property was deeded to the Motherwell family following the War of 1812, staying in their family name 100 years. The interior of the house is fully renovated with some exterior projects ongoing. HST included in our pricing. The space The entire house is freshly decorated and has a fully equipped kitchen for your use. There is a cozy, three season sun porch off the kitchen for enjoying your morning coffee, a favourite book or relaxing evening beverage. The large living room area has plenty of seating with an office nook if needed. Upstairs there is an unheated sunporch with comfy seating, great for some quiet time. Summer 2020, we installed a patio area with a BBQ and fire pit for relaxing and roasting marshmallows! This picturesque property has a very old orchard which we are working at revitalizing with new fencing and tree planting. The neighbourhood has surrounding crop land and a working dairy farm so there is the potential for sounds and smells associated with that. The Perth area is well known for its numerous surrounding waterways, trails, historical sites and variety of festivals. We are located mid-Eastern Ontario-1 hour west of Ottawa, 3 hrs from Montreal, 1 hr northeast of Kingston and 3.5 hrs from Toronto. We see our 50 acre property as lending itself well to family gatherings, time with friends or those in need of a breath of fresh country air. Enjoy the sounds of nature, distant train whistles and the warmth of a glowing bonfire. We currently have some livestock and poultry on the property, adding to your country experience.
