HEALTH AND SAFETY Treehouse is on a sloped property at 10,000 feet elevation. You WILL feel the elevation effects and MAY experience altitude sickness. You will need to be fit enough to carry your supplies uphill for approximately 35 feet (from parking spot) and then climb a 10 foot ladder to access the treehouse. Again, consider this a working camping trip rather than a hotel stay. NO showers available. Absolutely NO young children due to safety reasons. MOBILE PHONE SERVICE Verizon and AT&T have good coverage but service may be slow/spotty. Coverage for T-Mobile is poor. The most reliable location for reception is on the front part of the deck. DRIVING/ACCESS Please note, we can not control the weather and it can sometimes be a factor. During the summer, the property is easily accessible with a two-wheel drive vehicle (graded dirt road with sections that are bumpy/washboard). Consecutive days of rain may make a short sections of the road to the treehouse muddy and possibly inaccessible. 4WD is recommended when it has been raining for consecutive days. Autumn is accessible weather permitting. Spring is difficult due to snow/mud conditions. Please note, if you choose to book and the weather prevents access, the host will do their best to accommodate rebooking for another available date that works for both parties. Unfortunately we can not control the weather, so please understand we may have to re-book your reservation. We are only open during the spring and summer months and have had to re-book a few times due to poor weather. WINTER ACCESS If you are a die hard cold season camper, contact us for possible bookings based on the weather. Absolutely NO wheeled vehicle access in the winter! Regardless of 4 wheel drive, snow at altitude does not go through the melt and freeze cycle and therefore the snow is sand-like and ALL 4 wheel drive vehicles WILL sink and get stuck. Winter access is by snowmobile ONLY using cargo sled(s) to carry supplies. PARKING Park on the small steep circular driveway (35 feet from the treehouse) during your stay. If you feel the entrances to the circular driveway are too steep, you can choose to park on Ryland road which has little to no traffic. Guest access Guests can park on the circular driveway next to the treehouse on Ryland. Other things to note Once you get there, general treehouse set up time takes from 30-60 minutes depending on party size. Mobile phone coverage: Verizon and AT&T have the best coverage. T-Mobile has little or no coverage. Please hold the LOFT LADDER handle tightly when CLOSING the loft stairs as it is spring loaded and will slam shut if not used correctly. Remember to bring a sealable 5 gallon bucket so you can transport out your trash and toilet waste bags.
