Description
(We are back! Please see Storm Recovery Note in property description) Our studio apartment is located in a country setting just 20 minutes from the city center. Its walking distance to Pisgah National Forest with its hiking & mountain biking trails. We are also close to the Biltmore House, Nature Center, Blue Ridge Parkway and Folk Art Center. The property is bordered by a mountain stream, and pastures. Our guests love the quiet cozy feel, beautiful views, and convenient location. The space Storm Recovery Note: We did not sustain any damage to the apartment however we did sustain considerable damage to our property and landscape. We have made significant progress in restoring much of our property but still have work to do. The apartment and landscaping immediately around the apartment is still the same beautiful quality our guests have come to expect so we hope you will return and help support us as we not only recover the rest of the property but make it even better than ever. Local area note: The hiking trails that are within walking distance have been temporarily closed while the forest service logs the storm debris. There are several other hiking trails within a very short drive that are still open and very beautiful. When the trails reopen we will remove this part of the note. While area recovery is still in process cleanup is pretty much complete and 95+ percent of restaurants, businesses and roads have reopened. Property Access note: The directions to our property are still correct however the bridge on Unicorn Farm Road is still out and awaiting repair. You can access our property by taking the new culvert crossing that is to the left after the second bridge on Shope Creek and before Unicorn Farm Road. That will bring you up past our greenhouse operation and to the "green" house at the top of the property where the apartment is. We will also include these instructions in your reservation messages. Please note: The studio apartment is furnished with high end appointments such as granite counter tops, full kitchen with standard appliances, queen size bed, power reclining love seat, and a Roku LED smart TV with all the typical streaming apps you may have subscriptions with. When you arrive you can log into the TV and enter your check in/out dates to ensure that all your streaming accounts are automatically logged out when you leave. We only use unscented natural cleaning products when we turn over the apartment between guests to ensure guests with allergies are comfortable. Guest access Access to the apartment is via a private patio and front door with an electronic security lock which will be coded with your own private code. There is ample private parking at the apartment entrance. For people bringing motorcycles the parking area is gravel so you will want to have a kick stand pad. If you are trailering your bikes we have space for you to park your trailer. At this time we do not have an EV charger for guests. This is something we are looking into for the future. But there are EV chargers within 9 miles of our place. Other things to note With our property which is within walking distance of the Blue Ridge Parkway and Pisgah National Forest you can expect to see quite a bit of wildlife. We have wild turkey daily, frequently we will have a bear sighting, or you might get to see hawks and other interesting birds. And sometimes at night in the distance you will hear coyotes yapping and crying. Always you will enjoy the night sounds of owls, crickets and tree frogs while viewing our very clear star viewing sky. The national forest is so close you can easily make the short quarter mile ride to the beginning of the hiking and mountain biking trails. While we do not bike we have been told by avid riders that the trails begin as novice and range to highly technical. They are currently relatively undiscovered by the locals so they are not crowded providing a wonderful undisturbed ride.
