Description

Surprise - there are no bunkbeds in this Bunkhouse! You'll sleep on a queen-sized bed topped with line-dried sheets, blankets and a quilt you'd expect to find at Grandma's house. You'll have WiFi, a mini-fridge, coffee maker and microwave. The space The Bunkhouse is located off the highway and away from the noise of traffic at the end of a short, graveled road. You can easily walk to "downtown Baker" where you will find the Bristlecone General Store, laundry facilities and the post office. The Bunkhouse has a kitchenette with a microwave, coffee maker and an under-the-counter refrigerator. Dishes and utensils are furnished along with coffee, tea and cocoa. We even have pots and pans you may use if you'd like to make oatmeal in the morning on the barbecue on your private deck.. Need to wash the "trail dust" off after a day of exploring Great Basin National Park? Your Bunkhouse bathroom has a large walk-in shower with a hand-held, adjustable shower head. We provide fluffy towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner and a hair dryer, too. If you need to do your own laundry there is a small laundromat just down the street at the local gas station. There is NO washing machine available on our property for guests to use. However, there is an outside clothes line you may use for drying your wash. In the early evening sit out on your shaded deck or your near-by picnic table and watch the sun set.  Sip some wine and listen to the sounds of nature as the stars come out to shine. You might even want to grill dinner on your outdoor gas barbecue. No need to fuss with charcoal or wood.  Just remember to bring groceries with you. Why? Because the closest full-service grocery store is 70 miles away! **Although Airbnb does not mandate guests to disclose the presence of a licensed service animal before booking a reservation, you should know that ONLY ADA CERTIFIED ANIMALS are allowed in Lehman Caves or on trails in Great Basin National Park.** We hope you'll make The Bunkhouse your "great place to stay" while you explore Great Basin National Park. Guest access Great Basin Bunkhouse is not wheelchair accessible because of the gravel drive and steps leading to the Bunkhouse's entrance from your parking place in front of our home. You will have access to the entire space in your Bungalow, your private deck, shaded yard and picnic table. The Bunkhouse may not be suitable for toddlers because of uneven surfaces and the Bunkhouse's sliding glass door. Infants should bring their own "sleeping bags". Other things to note We are at an elevation over 5,600'. If you arrive in May, June, September or October, don't be surprised to find snow on many of the higher trails in Great Basin National Park. If you want to take a tour Lehman Caves please make reservations prior to your arrival. Tickets are often "sold out" in advance - so get your Lehman Cave Tour Tickets before you arrive in Baker. Great Basin National Park does NOT allow Service or Support animals in Lehman Caves or on any hiking trail in Great Basin National Park.
