Kitchen, dining, living, sun porch - all with river view; large deck, one full+ one-half bath downstairs; one BR w/river view, laundry first floor. Recreation just outside the doorstep on Big Cedar River- amenable for cross country skiing in winter- rafting/kayaking in spring/ summer if water levels allow. Wooded acres surrounding the property make for interesting for walks year round and sledding/tobogganing/cross country skiing in winter. Island Casino offers full tables and gaming machines and entertainment of the highest caliber as well as restaurants. Guest access Guests have access to the full space of the home to the river [forewarning: it is seasonally a fast moving river but is great for fishing (best in April, May and June) and crayfish when the water is low] ; Basement, garage, barn [on historic registry] and granary are off limits. Apple trees, fire pit, full deck over looking river, woods for walking, forewarning; bear and other forest animals have been spotted. Other things to note Of most importance to families renting with small children who are unaware of the danger of a fast moving river is to forewarn that they must keep constant surveillance on their children when they are playing outside of the home. Also there is a second rental building on the property, The Big Cedar River Log Cabin that may be rented during your stay. We ask you to please not block the driveway so they can pass by.
