An entire private apartment with a separate entrance convenient to downtown including a full kitchen, living room, bedroom, and bathroom. We strive to offer a well-equipped space. This older home is divided in to 4 apartments with on-street parking. Convenient for your Macon stopover! This upstairs apartment is close to all of the great things happening downtown. Sleeping accommodations include a queen bed in the bedroom and a pull-out full-sized sofa bed and a queen-sized air mattress in the living room. The whole unit is yours. The apartment has its own private entrance. A keypad is provided for self check-in. Please note this is an upstairs apartment with two narrow sets of stairs. The host or designee will be available during the guest's stay by phone and can offer assistance in person if needed. Late check-ins are okay as we have a keypad and will provide instructions to let you in. We ask that the guest sends a message when you leave so we can clean. The house is conveniently located near Mercer University and Tattnall Square Park (0.7 miles), Macon Dog Park (0.8 miles) and The Medical Center of Central Georgia (0.2 miles). Attractions close by include the restaurants and bars downtown like H&H Restaurant (0.5 miles) and the Rookery (0.9 miles), Washington Park (0.6 miles), Coleman Hill (featuring the adult sized in-ground concrete slide), Cox Capitol Theatre (0.9 miles), the Grand Opera House (1 mile), historic Rose Hill Cemetery (1.5 miles). Museums nearby include the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame and Tubman African American Museum (1.2 miles) and house museums like The Hay House and Cannonball Museum. The Ocmulgee Heritage Trail (2.5 miles to Spring St trail head), Ocmulgee Indian Mounds with free museum (3 miles), and Amerson Water Park (4 miles) offer nearby outdoor adventure with trails, river access, and more. Robins Air Force is a quick drive down HWY 247 (19 miles). Grocery stores nearby include Kroger (2.0 miles) and others. If you are coming to Macon to live, work, or play with events like Bragg Jam, The Macon Film Festival, Cherry Blossom Festival, and Magnolia Soap Box Derby, Pan African Festival, and Ocmulgee Indian Celebration, weddings in town, business at Mercer, The Medical Center, or short duty at Robins AFB this is a nice place to stay. Several downtown streets have 'sharrows' for biking. The on street parking spots right in front of the house can fill up but spots are available a few houses up or down on this short street. Note that New Street is one way coming from the direction of Maple Street. We are comfortable walking to nearby sites downtown. 1st Street is a good route. This 800+ square foot one bedroom/one bathroom upstairs apartment is one of four units in this home on a residential street in downtown Macon. A safety gate is provided for the stairs if needed. Wireless internet is included. Cable T.V. is provided for the televisions in the living room and bedroom. A DVD player is in the living room. The apartment has central heating and air and a supplemental window unit in the living room and bedroom. Art is placed throughout and blinds and curtains are on the windows. The bedroom has a queen bed, an iron/ironing board, ceiling fan, dresser, and nightstands. The living room has a sleeper sofa with a full-size fold-out foam mattress. There are a couple of chairs, a coffee table, a ceiling fan, and end tables. A queen-sized inflatable air mattress with pump and pillows/linens are in the living room closet. The bathroom has a stand-up shower. Bath towels, hand towels, washcloths, and a hairdryer are provided for use. The kitchen is furnished with a refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee pot, gas stove/oven, cookware, dish set, utensils, dining table, and four chairs, etc. A washer/dryer is not available. The on-street parking spots right in front of the house can fill up but spots are available a few houses up or down on this short street. We live downtown and are advocates for Macon.
