You park in driveway and walk about 250' to the campsite. The area you have to yourself is a good size. If you are at the tent, my property extends north to a small stream. Also, the property extends west to Ferguson Rd. (please see map in the welcome doc) Feel free to explore the woods there. (area behind tent is not my property) I can be reached by cell phone or airbnb message anytime 24/7 if something comes up. I also have 2 reliable people that take care of the place for me when I am not around. It's a quiet rural neighborhood atop the Shawangunk Ridge with lots of trees and birds. The tent is on 2.5 acres of wooded land with a house that I also list on Airbnb. ~ You'll have 1 whole wooded acre all to yourself. ~ You'll enjoy easy, and very close, direct access to truly scenic hiking on official marked trails!! (for detailed info about Hiking or Rock Climbing, with pics and maps, follow this link to a doc I put together: wryne /d0t/ com ~ DEC trail head in parking lot for hikers right across the road. (in about 10 minutes, you come to a gorge and small waterfall) ~ "The Long Path" passes very near the house and offers an extremely picturesque hikes. ~ A 1/4 mile hike West brings you to a rare dwarf pitch pine forest with views of the sunset over the Catskill Mountains. ~ A 1 mile walk North will bring you to an old fire tower atop the ridge and 360 degree views of the Hudson Valley. ~ Awesome bouldering less than a 10 min walk away ~ Much additional hiking and rock climbing just a few miles away, including trails along the D&H canal. ~ There is one neighboring house you can make out through the woods, at least 250+ feet away on the other side of a small stream. From the tent, it’s not easy to see the main house when leaves are on the trees, which is about 200' away. However, especially at night, sound travels so please keep music or noise at a respectable level. It's great to use this place as a stop on a longer hike. • Uber and Lyft in area, although waits can be long • Local taxi company, Busy Bee • 3 miles from Wurtsboro Airport • 5 miles from a Shortline/Coach USA bus stop servicing a wide network including New York City and Woodbury Commons. You may run into guests staying in the house if they are in the driveway and you are accessing basement. But guests often do not see each other. Even with all the amenities, this listing is still camping. The tent will be clean edwith fresh bedding. The Toilet will be clean, with toilet paper and fresh towels. The cleaner does a lot of cleaning for a cleaning fee that is kept small to keep the place affordable. So it is unrealistic to expect the cleaner to clean every grill utensil or make the outdoor campsite super tidy.
